Level 1 Maintenance
Level 1 Maintenance Contractors Beware! If you value your time & money stay away from this company! Dedham, Massachusetts
4th of Jun, 2011 by User191218
Let me get right to the point. I obtained all of the insurances and filled out their huge contract and was willing to work for Level 1. This was my first year with a blade on my truck and I was excited to have a chance to earn some money with it. I serviced 4 BlockBusters in Omaha, Ne for them and although was not to thrilled about their "Net 45", I looked at it as kind of a savings account. I knew (or in hindsight hoped) that I would get my money in 45 days. Now I didn't get totally stiffed, I did recieve about 75% of my money but the last time I serviced their customers was Feb. 2 and it is now June 5 and I am still waiting to be paid from jobs I did at the end of January somewhere in the dollar amount of $2,000 still owed. I understand that is not a great deal of money but for small business owners, that is a chunk of change. I just think it is messed up, just like for other contractors I am discovering, we are the ones fronting the time, money, wear on our equipment and not to mention the energy to uphold our end of the contract. They have zero to minimal overhead to get these sites serviced and kept up through snow storms. We are the ones that have to be up and out of our homes at 2 or 3 AM in the freezing snow to make sure that Level 1's integrity is upheld and this is the way we are repaid? By not getting paid? I have made multiple attempts to try and get someone to talk to me about my money but all I have gotten to this point is "Be Patient". My patience are running very thin. It has been 122 days since I last worked for them, ridiculous! I guess I should of known something was up since starting with Level 1 I have had 2 contacts both of which have quit the company (Red Flag!). So I guess my next course of action is to put liens on the BlockBusters that are still open, 1 out of the 4 I think. But why not I have done $2,000 worth of unpaid work for Blockbuster whether that site is still open or not. Contractors Beware! I would hate to see other companies go through what I am going through.

Same thing here for plowing 7-11 stores in Denver Co. The only option I have left is to lein 7-11 stores.
And fyi. I think level one maintenance is going or already out of
business. The last contact I had with them the person on the phone
mentioned that Kristen Cassetta was taking money from the company

I am trying to get paid from Fm Facility maintenance, they are
who level 1 sub contracted for. If that doesn't work I will be leining
7-11.

We were hired to do Snow removal services for them 2011 Season Jan-April. Have not been paid a dime to date(June 2011). At this point, no one at Level 1 has answered their phone for over a month. With all the complaints on the internet, I hope no one does any business with them. Horrible business. We did all the work with no pay. Next step is lein on the bldg.

We are all in the same boat. Same story. We're owed over $10, 000 and I know of another contractor who is owed $85, 000. And yes, we've hired an attorney, so that's another $400 for court fees. Don't want to waste my time typing, but believe me, same story and I'm sick to my stomach. If they close the business (which I'm pretty sure they've done or will do very soon) they will open another business under a different name, and continue on. Someone asked how they sleep at night. Simple. They're all low lifes. What I need are personal addresses for these people. Anyone have addresses?

Anyone interested in paying them a personal visit? Sometimes it's a good idea to just get in their face. Our company is about 3 1/2 hours away from their building. Wonder how they would handle an unruly CROWD of contractors showing up, with the police, and demanding our money? Get the local TV station involved. What does everyone think? I'm a good person, and have never done anything wrong in my life that would get me arrested. I would love to get arrested if it meant coming down HARD on these people. Comments?

Your are correct Roscoe, the phone are disconnected and Kristin Cassetta and and her boyfriend Ross have registered another company SKR Premier Contracting Inc. with an address of 10 Technology Drive Suite 40, Unit 381 in Hudson, MA 01749. Have done a lot of leg work and even found her home address! I live less than an hour from their shop. I'm owed over $10k myself for services to Walgreens locations.

I have the same issue as all of you. Is any one having any luck with sueing them or placing liens? I was going to go to the stores and see if there is anything they can do? Just seeing if hiring an attorney is worth it?

We did some contract work for Level 1. Still waiting to get paid from February 2011. We did some investigation about Kristin Cassetta and have discovered she has a new company ready to scam us all this winter. It is called SKR Premier Contracting! Beware of Kristin. She tries to blame other people as to the reason we are not getting paid, but she is truly the reason.

As it turns out, Kristin Cassetta and her boyfriend Steve Ross were stealing a great deal of money from Level 1 for a long time. They were given free reign over the finances and took Level1, and all their contractors, to the cleaners. From what I understand, a thorough investigation is underway.

I am sorry to hear about everyone's nightmare with this company...I wish I had researched this company before I committed to snowplowing several Mobil locations in the Albany NY area. I recently attempted to contact the Attorney Generals office and received a response saying that since this is a business transaction they will not be involved. Does anyone have any info on people who will be suing this company for monies owed? I would be willing to hop on board and join in the effort to right this wrong and hold these people responsible. Thanks in advance. Scott

I was an employee at Level 1 and you are all right...you were scammed. These people treated their employees like slaves and paid them slave wages. As for the contractors...I signed up hundreds in the time I was there and none of them got paid. Everytime I brought up complaints I was put in my place. These people should be put in Jail: Steve Ross, Kristin Casseta, John Chalmers, Jessica Natale, Tracy Aliquo and Robert Casto (the big fish)...good luck

This company has been screwing over sub-contractors and employees for many years. The main individuals who own/ operate the company have had several company names and the same games. Your net 45 is a easy way of saying, were gonna screw you every 45 days, not pay. The only effective way of shutting down criminals like this is to place a complaint with the BoSton office for the F.B.I. at 1617-742-5533 . There is already an open investigation into the criminal acts of this company and its heirarchy of thieves.
