Stay very clear of this marina!! Owner leased me a dock for my boat and offered storage for my trailer, then removed my trailer from from the property, hid it at his friends business, (Mars Towing in Ecorse) and denied having possession of it, then attempted to charge me 3x the quoted price for storage because I no longer had a trailer. I hired a detective to find the business where he hid the trailer, and after 3 calls to the police, I was FORCED to pay $300.00 to Mars Towing to get my trailer back, and was ONLY able to do so with the help of the Ecorse Police as Mike Beaubean was lying to the police and myself as to whether or not he even had the trailer. Mars Towing is the impound yard for the Ecorse Police and therefore didn't want the heat of stolen property so I was able to pay the $300.00 and get the trailer back. Initially, Mars Towing (owner is a personal friend of Mike Beaubean) refused to give the trailer back, but upon several visits from the police in which they denied having it, they were forced by Ecorse Police to give me a price and return my property to me. (my trailer WAS NOT legally impounded...it was "stored there" by Libra Marina) This trailer is for a 28 ft boat and is valued at around $4,000.00. His plan was undoubtedly to keep it hidden and sell it. They had it buried under so much garbage the police couldn't even find it upon initial searching of the business. Libra Marina has SEVERAL boats they aren't returning to their owners..quite obviously a nice way to RIP PEOPLE OFF and make an illegal income. I was even physically threatened by Mike Beaubean (a joke as he is a 50 something year old DRUNK) while INSISTING on the return of my property. I thought the deplorable conditions of the marina were the worst part. (2 ft water depth, 10 inch wide docks, broken boards, half sunken boats, no running water, etc) Boy was I wrong.. Please beware of this man and his business! I will be pursuing this matter in court as well, but wanted to warn others. Thank you scam REPORT for making a venue where we can discuss the HORRIBLE business tactics of people like this. Shame on Libra Marina, Mars Towing and the city of Ecorse for using a business like that. (Libra Marina is in Wyandotte, so I still have NO EXPLANATION of why my property went into hiding in a "legit" police impound yard in Ecorse) PLEASE BELIEVE I HAVE NOT EXAGGERATED ONE WORD OF THIS COMPLAINT!!!!
