LightInTheBox.com Jin Wei, Customer Relationship Manager TOTAL SCAM: BAIT AND SWITCH, NO CUSTOMER NUMBER TO CONTACT!!! Internet |
3rd of Oct, 2011 by User344368 |
This company is a complete scam. The information they disclose tointerested shoppers is completely different from the information that is disclosed once purchases are made. I was looking to purchase 2 dresses for an event I have on October 13, 2011. Prior to entering my credit card information on 10/03/2011 7:47pm EST to process the payment and place the order, they disclosed that their "expedited shipping" takes 3-7 working/business days. To Americans, that means one of two things: either it will ship from its place of origin within 3-7 business days, OR arrive at its destination within that time. Once the order was placed and was under the "processing stage," I come to find out that the shipment won't be delivered until October 23, 2011. Either way, I was under the FALSE impression that my order would be here in more than enough time given the FALSE shipping ETA of 3-7 days. First and foremost, at no point was it made clear that the dresses are made BY HAND (which would be great if I had all the time in the world) and are shipped out of CHINA until AFTER I made the purchase. I searched for a Customer Service number for an entire DAY to either cancel the order or see if I could pay more to have it get to me sooner, and could not locate one ANYWHERE. By the next day I began to panic, so I finally thought to utilize the LiveChat feature, which was VERY helpful when I needed assistance with color swatches and sizing PRIOR to making a purchase, only to find out that no representative can help me AFTER an order is place, and that I need to "send in a request." I sent in a cancellation request, and got a response 13 hours later letting me know that I am now outside of the 24-hour full-refund cancellation window, so I would only be able to received a 50% refund. I literally cant understand the extent of which they are allowed to operate a full-blown scam such as this! I placed an order under completely false pretenses, had no number to call to cancel the order once I finally find out what I ACTUALLY signed myself up for, received NO assistance from LiveChat representatives, and received a response to my written cancellation request 13hrs later letting me know that there's nothing they can do but refund me half because "it's just policy." Had I had a number to call, I would have been able to operate under the policy, and that's assuming they'd uphold that part of the agreement anyway. I just wanted my dresses to get to me by October 12th/13th, BUT if that simply could not be done, then I wanted the order completely CANCELED, and a FULL refund of my money, which is $240.93. Not the 50% they tried to offer. |
