I called Lisa Grey about a chihuahua puppy I saw on her website ( ). She verbally agreed to let me purchase the puppy and instead of driving to her place, one of her relatives would meet me to transfer the puppy to my care, so I could pay him, since he would be in the area anyway. I mentioned I would be taking the puppy to a Vet to have it checked out after I picked it up. She then mentioned she would let me know the exact time to meet to hand over the puppy and she would call me back. That was days ago. We were supposed to meet today. I have tried calling her numerous times the past few days, as well as leaving messages and she never returned my phone calls. This puppy was supposed to be a gift for my daughter for Christmas. I'm extremely disappointed. After reading numerous complaints online about her scamming other people out of money, I'm kind of glad the transaction didn't go through. I would hate to think she would have possibly scammed me (my daughter ultimately since she would have been the one caring for the puppy) out of money, the registration papers, or heaven forbid if she gave us a sick puppy. (I think she was freaked out because I mentioned I was going to take the puppy to the vet right away.) Why else would she not have gone through with this agreement? It's not 'right' or 'etihical' to have a verbal agreement (which is legally binding) with someone, only to back out and never return phone calls to explain the reasons behind why you're backing out of a deal. I also came across information that she was suspended from the AKC (American Kennel Club) because of fraud (falsifying breeder registration records). That says a lot about her, and I hope people learn from my experience with Lisa Grey. Do not trust a thief who has scammed numerous people out of money, someone who commits fraud, or someone who backs out of a (legal and binding) agreement.
