I have never encountered such disrespectful and inept individuals in all of my life. Being prior military I was used to moving every two to three years. Of all of the moving companies that I have utilized to move all of my life long posessions Low Country Van Lines, Inc. has got to be the worst and they are a joke. They should not only be shut down by the Department of Transportation, the Movers Association whom they claim to be a member of. I moved from Tampa, FL to Indianapolis In and not only did they rip me off by charging me double what they had quoted to do a Full Pack Out they refused to pack out most of my house hold goods and left half of my belongings still sitting in the house. I knew I was in trouble when they pulled up in the driveway in a Ryder Rental Truck when they said they had their own fleet of trucks and then subcontracted another carrier to deliver our stuff. The team they sent to pack out our stuff called me all kinds of names like F&*())**) B^%** and told my Mother to get out of their F*&^*&( way. The supposed Crew Leader told me that they were not there to pack out my whole F(*&*() house and they were ina hurry because they had another load to pick up. They deliberately packed FLAMABLE items in with other kitchen items which is against the law. HAZMAT materials are not allowed to be transported with items that can catch on fire or cause damage to the shipment. They did not pay attention to detail at all and refused to even listen to myself, my mother, or another gentleman who was there helping us. I was forced to give away hald of my furniture and pay several junk men $560.00 to take the rest of the stuff to the dump. The approximate amount of the furniture that I had to leave was in excess of 3k. All we transported was our beds and a dining room table and chairs. Our belongings were taken to a warehouse where they sat in the Florida heat and some of the totes that we packed the tops had melted into the top of the tote itself. We had packed almost everything ourselves and they had a fit when they saw all of the boxes that were already packed. Instead of placing the smaller boxes into larger boxes they loaded all of the small boxes and even labeled some of the items twice with 2 inventory tags. For example a small box that had a food processor in it that was no more than 12" high and 5 " wide. Moreover, they negated their own contract by promising to build a create for my custom made mahagony coffee table and just wrapped it in a furniture blanket which my son set his IPod up in his bedroom window and video taped the entire unloading of the truck. They did not reassemble the items which required assembly nor did they take the items where I ask them to place them when they got to our new destination. My son and a friend of ours did more of the unloading and bringing in items than the two employees of the subcontracted transport drivers. I called Yolanda whom is supposed to be the Owner/Office Manager and she was very rude and beligerant to me and ask me what did I expect her to do when I told her how they were conducting themselves. I had to call them back from the truck because they had left all of our clothes haning in the closet. I was promised 8 wardrobe boxes and the guy in charge of the crew got an attitude and had them go out and get 5 and they started throwing my clothes in the box. SO I told them that is not the way that clothes are packed in a wardrobe box, where is the bar that accomodates the hangers so the clothes can hang on the bar as they are supposed too. He went into a rage and started verbally abusing me once again in Spanish thinking that I did not understand what he was saying.So I responded to him in return in spanish. They did not deliver our shipment as promised when it was supposed to be delivered and deliberately held it for over 20 days which is way past the amount of time for transport to the midwest from Florida and refused to give me an update each time I called Yolanda said that she did not have it in the system and did not know where it was. When I spoke with Mike who was supposed to be the Warehouse Logistics Coordinator he assured me that our belongings would be dedlivered by the first week of August as they picked up our shipment on the 20th of July. Thereafter when I attempted to call them as soon as they ask who was calling I was put on hold and no one would come back to the phone. Furthermore, they blocked my emails from going into their inboxes by designating it as SPAM or Blocking it within their software program email. I wrote to the Department of Transportation and filed and complaint and also have my attorney drafting a letter on my behalf to find out what steps they are going to take to mitigate my losses and damages, not to mention the mental and emotional anguish they put me through by violating my Civil Rights and disrespecting myself and trating me in a disgusting and very unprofessional and ignorant manner. I would definitely be interested in seeing them being brought to justice via a Class Action Suit and make them pay for all of the money and belongings they steal from individuals. I have items that are missing that I cannot find and when the two men came to drop off the shipment they did not have any bill of lading, no claim forms to fill out for losses or damaged items and they still have not provided me with an itemized list of the materials they used of their own that they used to charge me the price which was paid. There is and was no justification for the amount of money that they charged me and they provided no proof of justification for the price which was over twice the amount had they have come into my home and did a full pack out. They used my packing materials and even boxes that I had got from the local WalMart, Ego Frozen Waffles boxes, so how is it that they can charge me for something that I supplied. Not to mention my packing tape, bubble wrap and other professional packing boxes I purchased from Home Depot. Someone needs to do something to put them out of business!
