Madison Who's who Former Employee Confirms This obvious Scam for 2011 queens, New York |
18th of May, 2011 by User669314 |
I was hired by this company to start work on 5/16/2011 and caught on to thier scheme by 5/17/2011. Although we are all living in hard economic times, don't let this be a factor in working for this company. They take advantage of good honest people that they recruit on this fact alone. Dont Be duped. If your integrity, Reputation, and Name mean anything to you, decline thier employment offer at all cost. Here's Why! If a company tells you not to use your Legal Name when talking about or attempting to sell thier products and/or services. Run... Even the trainer used a false name while training the new hires. If you have to wait 3-5 weeks for your 1st minimum wage paycheck Something is not right.. If you are not allowed to view and/or see the entire office/area in which you will be working, reconsider your job choice. If you can't take any documentation with you to study while in training, is it a real opportunity. If you are being told jokingly that some parts of your compensation does not have to be reported to the IRS, and you will be 1099 for all monies paid BUT it's up to you to report your earnings, think twice about working for the company. For legal reasons! Prior to me leaving on the second day of training, I confronted the company about the many complaints and issues that i see posted on this web site and the Internet in general. The trainier was blindsided and after my address in front of the entire class, the trainer disappeared for about 30 mins with sweat beading down his forehead, in fact after i confronted the company about it's obvious scheme, i never saw the trainer again and just got up and left, seeing that he was not returning to the classroom. This company sells you on time-share airline tickets, which you have to commit to a 90 minute tour and pay inflated rates for accomodations. They will let anyone with $799.00 be in thier supposedly Professional, C-Level, Top Executive only directory/registry. They do not verify or validate any information and said we as "Editors" should only take short-hand notes regarding a potential clients profile and/or biography. There are a lot of scam companies that set up shop in this somewhat shady area of LIC Queens. But these guys take the cake. Please stay away from this company at all cost. Because they not only scam the customers but thier employees as well. The most troubling aspect of this whole thing is that the majority of people they lure in to work for them are minorities and seniors. The trainer is the only person you interact with initially and he is a black man, with an african name that i won't divulge, but my point is this. He knows it is a bogos scheme and yet he was comfortable enough to try and sell everyone on this scheme. Shame on you for not only discracing yourself but others who find it hard enough to find a decent job. You should be ashamed of yourself, and nothing good will ever come to you for doing what you are doing. All the rest of management @ MWW is white and they truly have this Black dummy doing all the dirty work as thier front man. By the way, I am African american as well. This is not meant to sound racist but its true. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY! Thanks, God Bless....... |

Thank you so much this was so helpful. I literally just came from an interview this morning from the same location in LIC Queens and I knew something was iffy about the employment. As soon as I got home I had to do some research and reading this I couldn't help but laugh because I couldn't believe i was so close to be part of a sham. Thank you so much for posting this i definitely wont be going back. |

My Experience
I like working at Madison Who's Who. Yes, I did have to wait for my first paycheck but I would have had to do that anywhere I worked. We do have a mix of people that work here and of all ages. That is one of the great things about NYC...it's a melting pot.
I feel the trainer does a good job and is not a dummy. Actually, if you would have stayed longer you might have got to know him a little better and discovered he is a cool dude! |

Kwak is a great guy, say what you will about the company but he's a great dude to get a drink with. |
