Magic Jack Magic Jack Ripped Me Off. False Advertisement. internet

I have been a customer of Magic Jack for slightly over a year now. I've dealt with their inconsistent service, such as switching features during mid subscription, and the continuation of dropped and unclear calls, but one thing I will not deal with is being ripped off. My renewal date was soon to be up, so I paid the $19.95 to continue my service for another year. To my knowledge, everything was a go. Then my phone wouldn't work and I received another notice that I had to renew my service again. I contacted Magic Jack via Tech Chat, informed them of my issue, and the response I received was to my surprise. Magic Jack claimed that my phone was cut due to violation of Terms of Service. Within the Terms of Service it states that if someone uses the phone more than 20 times the average user, or calls 50 or more numbers in a day, then they are able to cut your service with no refund. I have about 10 people I keep in contact with, which isn't even on an every day basis so I do not understand how this is possible. My argument is: Why did Magic Jack wait until I paid for my second year service before they informed me of "Excessive Use"? I paid for my Magic Jack November 1st 2011, and my service was cut November 18th 2011, which was the starting day of my second year contract. I could understand if they cut my service during mid subscription, and would not refund my money, but I just paid for a NEW service, didn't use any of it, and they refuse to refund my money. What happened to the "Unlimited Calling" that is advertised? How is it Unlimited if there is a limit before you are cut off? How can they discontinue your service due to a limitation, but not inform you exactly what the limitation is? I would no longer suggest Magic Jack to anyone, not only is their service unstable, but it's a scam.

I agree ! I too have experienced bad business with Magicjack. I too tried to resolve the issue by their live chat customer service agents. This entailed more than 7 (seven) people and still no resolve. Upon the onset of my order they sent out a confirmation which at the very bottom lists items I did not authorize magicjack to charge for. I hurried and sent an email to inform them their was a big mistacke with the order listing items not ordered. I did not hear back . So I sent more notices. Before the 30 day trial was up of my order, I had not received the magicjack yet but did receive a charge on my credit card. I contacted them regarding this while again asking for confirmation of the correct order listing the correct items and the correct charge on credit. This never came my way. The magicjack did arrive AFTER the 30 day trial period. I contacted them then with the activation requesting the correct order list. Yet none was forwarded. The 30 day trial was expired before I had the opportunity to activate. THEN another second charge came on my credit card. I informed them and this took much time with atleast 3 different chat agents. THEN after no more charges and a year of use my SECOND year was not granted. This totally disappointed me for this second year was the reason I signed up as it was the deal breaker to begin with. So I was scammed with a long drawn out ordeal from an order that was never confirmed correct from the onset. BLAHHH to magicjack !! Don't order one online and if you buy one from a merchant good luck !
