I had retired from game since Oct 2010 but decided to come back into the game. So i bought an account here from Maidak with 100+ positive review thinking it would be safer as he would have done checks b4 acquiring accounts for sale. I was wrong. I bought the account in Oct 2011 & got recalled 1 mth later. I bought the accounts without secret Q&A, MAIDAK did not state on the sell thread there isn't one & it was partly my fault for overly trusting on the trader & not asking him b4 i paid him. After it was recalled, i pm the Maidak, the initial response i got from him was my accounts got hacked. Well i dont have windower or contact game friends outside of ffxi. He later say the accounts were bought from a person he "trusted". I m surprised a veteran trader in this line could buy an account base on trust. I had lost the money i paid for & thus far there is no news from the veteran trader on a reply from the "trusted" person. I doubt there will be any reply as the person recalled the account. The lesson learn from this is: 1) Dont ever think that a veteran trader's account is any safer. Do your own checks & read the fine lines on the account sell thread. Some pertinent info on the account may not be disclosed by trader. It is buyer's responsibilty to also verify & ask questions. Ask lotsa question b4 u buy an account. 2) Buy account only if secret Q&A is provided. Without one, the SE pw can be easily reset by anyone with the Q&A. 3) Maidak has been reported for scamming FFXI Accounts, Gil. I have no proof of this, I know know what has happened to me. 3) Please do not buy accounts or gil from this trader. A fair warning to everyone here.

There is no FFXI account that is 100% safe there never will be unless you make the account yourself. That is part of the risk in buying second hand MMORPG gaming accounts, when someone buys an account off another the original owner can recall an account at any time all they have to do is call in square enix and say it was stolen. So I don't get how you say he is a scammer he legitimately purchased the account to resell it for a profit.
