Mark Quinones also known as, Mark A. Taffet is a nationally known scam and con artist recognized for his nefarious role in developing realtypartner.com and later by his auto scam website better known as: autoleaselocator.com. Under varying aliases Mark rotates back and forth between the states of California, Nevada, and Texas (Houston), and is known to have family living in parts of South, Florida. A story on locate channel 2 stopped short of naming Quinones for a range of multiple scams across the U.S. Be warned not to conduct any financial transactions as he is prone to take the money, disappear and relocate to a new residence within the same city or if on the run, move altogether to a new hide-out. Quinones according to law enforcement officials in both California and Texas have indicated currently there is an warrant out for his arrest and he is also being highlighted on local crime watcher shows in two cities. How Mark's Scam Works: Mark advertises cars on his website or via Craigslist--no or low money down with of course, no credit check. Unsuspecting and trusting people, call references which are simply people he knows, who confirm the legitimacy of the company. He then sends someone to pick-up the car, however they work for Mark, and not a real wrecker or transport company. They drive your car across the country, not paying tolls to where ever Mark is. Once there, he tells you, he's taking it to a dealership for repairs and will pay for everything, however, he quickly releases the car to the first person, any person he can get a new down payment from. Mean while, no GPS is on the car, it's never registered, nor are the plates changed. He tells you, he'll wire the money to your account, then will disappear, on both you and the person he received the down-payment from your vehicle. He then, changes his number, and you are stuck having to explain to booth your insurance company and the police exactly what happened. The business being complained about is NOT AutoLeaseLocator.com. We are located in West Hollywood, CA and do not sub lease vehicles.
There is a criminal going by the name of "Mark Taffet" posing as an Auto Lease Locator employee running a scam in Houston. They even registered the name "Auto Lease Locator LLC". We are Autoleaselocator.com Incorporated ( one word). We have put warnings on our website about not trusting anyone that claims to take your car payments over. We are an advertising company only. We do NOT deal with an inventory of physical cars. We only list cars for sale by individual owners.
We have even worked with the Houston Police department in trying to catch the criminal. |
