FRAUD ALERT : Pennell Design LLC ! Stay away from this nightmare of a contractor. We had a horrific experience. Pennell Design took our money - both for services and actual hard goods - and delivered close to nothing in return. When we became suspicious and tried to get a refund, low & behold, our money was gone and Pennell refused and still refuses to repay us our money. Mark Pennell will have you believe that he is an "architect," but he is in fact unlicensed as such. (Unlicensed architects are only allowed to call themselves "designers.") You can check on your "Architect" here: Pennell performed work for us as a home contractor, but it turns out he is also unlicensed here (as per the New York Dept of Consumer Affairs - Always check with them here: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/licenses/license_check.shtml Quite possibly, he also runs the typical contractor ponzi scheme where he takes your money and uses it for someone else's job... In any event, this character indeed has a criminal history: See here: We want to warn the unsuspecting public because we wish someone had warned us.. We would have saved ourselves a LOT of trouble Stay FAR away!
