My son was cold called from a magazine company, when the call ended he unknowingly subscribed to MD 247 19.99 per month. When we tried to call and cancel they made it very hard for someone with no life experience to cancel their services. MD247 never sent anything in the mail. No products or services were ever received. I took a LONG LONG time to cancel.

Yup, they are fake. They are also associated with some sort of fake "sweepstakes."

They claim they received your information because you are a Visa or Mastercard holder (in case you weren't sure, your bank would NEVER EVER give out your information). I must have given my phone number to someone I shouldn't have. Oh right, and later they claimed that my number was publicly available, which also isn't true. I'm surprised it wasn't shut down already - they have been calling me for well over a month.

Don't give them ANY information about you! Do not confirm any information they may already have!

The company is not FAKE!!! I have been a customer with this company for a long time!! Never had a problem recieving information from this company and have called and talked to the doctors and nurses many times! When they call you have to agree to have the service and there is definitely no SCAM here!!! They dont already have your credit card number you have to provide that in order to sign up for the trial! If you have a problem with them calling you simply tell them to put you on the DNC list & they will never call you again!!

I just got a pair of calls from this company (877.824.8169) pitching MD24x7.

First lady does a sales pitch and welcomes you to the program. thanks you for accepting the free $100 gift "b/c everyone does" and hangs up. 3 min later the second guy calls to confirm 'details' b/c the first person was new to the company. Can I confirm my address? Can I confirm the expiration date of my CC? Then tells me it's 19.95 one time fee to receive the materials (not mentioned by the first lady). After 30 free trial you then get billed 49.95/month for access to a Doctor 24x7. (price also not mentioned by the first lady.) You can cancel any time and keep the two free gifts, but we know you'll love the service.

Hmm, So I asked for a website to learn more about the program. He deflected the question with song and dance about being reputable company that needs to stay in good standing with the CC company; and I can always dispute the charge if I am not satisfied with the product. ... red flag! ... So I said I dont like to buy something without getting more info, what's the url? He hung up on me.

Never give out ANY personal info on the phone to someone you dont know.

I've been a member of MD247.com since November 2010. I'm married and have 4 children. I've used the service 4 times since November and have had a wonderful experience every time. Maybe people don't realize that Tele-Medicine is the wave of the future. Doctors will be able to evaluate you by using you cell phone in the future. Doctors will take your pulse, temperature, blood pressure. Think about the cost savings using Tele-Medicine, the time savings. No waiting in a line at the doctors office. No waiting weeks to see a Doctor. Just make a simple phone call.

So stop criticizing a great program and a great service.

This is all scam. They are not legit and all they want is to get free money from people's bank account. My story was just similar to those who posted earlier. They are thirsty for money. When I called back to cancel the fee and ask for reimbursement, they lady on the phone said that they have over 700 workers and could not find who is Peter Bently. She told me that they would call me in few minutes and never did. I called back and she said the costumer services knows how to handle the situation and they would call me back in an hour, but they never did.Therefore, DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO. They are a SCAM company thirsty for easy money.

Listen guys i will give you skinny on this service. 100% unabashed truth. Most of you complaining here are misinformed and easily sold. Here are the facts one person calls you give you a little detail about the program. Gives you "gifts" The second person gives you the price terms of service and Ask your credit card number. You willing give your card up.
Fact 1. No one ever ask you verify your card. The guy says " visa card right? you say "yeah" He says read it straight across starting with the 4" You start reading.

Fact 2. All visas start with "4" anyone who ever worked a cash register can tell you that.

Fact 3. This service actually works. Its not new you can call a nurse to ask her medical questions and get simple Rx from a Dr. after providing medical information. Its called tele-medicine.

I don't know if it was a scam or not but when I cancelled this stupid lady kept lowering the monthly price if I had stayed with it until she got to 14.99 a month, and I said ma'am I don't want anything to do with this anymore ok! She then ignorantly goes ok its cancelled and abruptly hungup the phone! Oh how my feelings were hurt..gimmie a break!

I think anyone on here saying this is legit is part of the scam team. They clearly are out to swindle anyone who is trusting enough to give them the time of day. They will not proceed without your name and info. I just tried to find out what it is about and once I said you don't need my name, she hung up on me. Also, if it were a legit business you would not hear people swearing and talking loudly in the backround.

I have been called 8 times in the last 3 days from this same toll free number based somewhere in Boston, MA. 877-824-8167 the lastest was for 'MD247' but has been 3 or 4 different companies now using same phone number to my cell. They won't leave a message or talk to you if ask about the company, they just hang up. I have asked 8 times to not call me anymore.

Well folks, don't agree with most of you that this company isn't real. Same day I signed up I have a young adult whom lives in my house and he was in hosipital the week before but not totally well. I had a doctor call me back and he called in a prescrition to wal mart. The prescription was only 19.95 and the week before the same prescription was 80.00. So the discount was 75% off. He is going to the dentist next week, I'll post the saving on a comment then. The only thing that the sales rep. didn't make clear on the call was when you really talk to a doctor on phone it is a 35$ fee billed to your credit card. I had someone calling me 10 times in one day. I didn't recognize the number (855-267-4168) so I didn't answer. I called back and no one answered and there was no voice mail. The company proceeded to call me and I finally answered.
A woman named Hannah informed me about the company, but left out the company name and I just said ok to whatever she was promoting and she told me that within a few minutes her manager would be calling me because she was new at work to follow up on her performance.
ANY LEGIT COMPANY WOULD NOT HAVE MANAGERS CALLING CUSTOMERS TO CHECK ON THEIR EMPLOYEES
Not even a minute after I ended the call with Hannah, a man called me claiming he was from the company without giving me his name and only saying he was Hannah's manager, and said he was doing a follow-up on how Hannah did in explaining the company (his phone number: 855-267-4124). But after he said that statement, he didn't ask a single question about her performance, ALL HE WANTED WAS MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER. I was skeptical and was trying to find out more about the company. He kept saying that he deals with hundred of people a day and that so many people are skeptical about joining, but that it's only 19.99 and after that, 49.99 a month and I could cancel after the first month if I wanted to. He went on and on about how they were a real company because they have so many customers how he wouldn't risk his job for 19.99 if he was lying. Then he said at first that I would receive a $100 gift card for joining, then after talking for another minute he said I would receive a $200 gift card (because I think he got confused of what he initially said). I asked him what kind of gift card it was and he said, "You can use it for anything." Then I asked if it was a visa gift card or if it was for a specific store, and he said I could use it for anything, except alcohol and gasoline but that it they have options for gift cards for every store. They said that each customer has something that they'd like. After about five minutes of talking, I told him that I wanted to decline the offer. RIGHT AFTER I SAID "I THINK THAT I'M GOING TO DECLINE THE OFFER" HE HUNG UP!!!
ANY LEGIT COMPANY WOULD HAVE MORE PROFESSIONALISM THAN THAT!

The answer we are working on is telemedicine, or giving all of our friends and neighbors access to a doctor twenty-four hours a day via telephone, but the one definitive problem hitting us is the reality that there is no text book explaining how to create a perfect telemedicine healthcare system. That means we will make mistakes, and it means that some people will not be satisfied, but we promise we will do our best to try to alleviate these growing pains and satisfy as many people as we can.

Today all of us have the ability to look anywhere to discover, or ferret out, the information
about a product or a company that we are considering spending our hard earned dollars on. Google, Facebook, Twitter, Yelp and a dozen other sites all put the power in the hands of the people and we have a generation of critics. These are people who can take a lifetime of earned positive reputation, and transform it into a questions and fear with just a few words entered under anonymous names like “StPeteFanGuy.” Guilt or innocence does not matter, and we can and will see the deserving like Bank of America lumped with the undeserving like the Humane Society. No matter the company, no matter the validity of the claim, all have to face the stark reality that the only way to ever ensure that false or inflammatory reports are removed is to pay the owners of supposed scam reporting sites. It is extortion.

Some of you are no doubt saying “the complaint would not be there if you did your job right, ”
and I do agree but I also realize and fully admit that nobody is perfect. People make mistakes, and businesses make mistakes. My personal issue is that we have 50, 000+ satisfied customers but, like any product out there, we get a few complaints from people who either just did not have the ability to stick with the product or they may have had a rotten day. Match an unhappy customer with a staff member who may not be having the perfect day, and you wind up with a recipe for disaster. It is a shame when this happens, but it does happen because we are all human. The problem comes when an upset customer decides that momentary anger is easier than actually doing what used to be encouraged in customer service situations, and requesting the opportunity to speak with a manager regarding dissatisfaction. If the customer exercised his or her right to speak with a manager, it is very likely that the problem would be positively resolved but people are not comfortable dealing with people any more. Now the best thing to do is jump on a website, issue a scathing report and sit back to see if an equally faceless corporation will have their web service team rebut your report. While technology is great, I really believe that these snapshots of anger are some of the most detrimental results to find their way into “real life.”

We are going to admit outright that we have reports filed against us on scam report sites, just
like both Wal-Mart and the American Red Cross have filed against them. The reports are few, and there are quite a few people jumping in to support both MD247 and the telemedicine healthcare
program that we provide. Still, each anonymous report is out there as a snapshot of one moment in time that we did not treat a customer the way that he or she expected to be treated. It is the “anonymous” which bothers us, because we have NO WAY to help that person by resolving what they perceived to be a personal injury. We want the chance to deal personally with things you do not like, we want to find ways to make our service better and we encourage you to challenge us rather than running off and posting under a fake name on an extortion website. Between this site and the BBB, we are looking at approximately 30 complaints on this company. The company over time has collected 50, 000 customers. Let's do the math:

30 / 50, 000 = 0.0006% of the company's sales result in complaints. But let's give our complainers the benefit of the doubt. To include unhappy people that have not reported online, let's just assume there are 100 complaints on this company. Revisit the math.

100 / 50, 000 = 0.002% of the company's sales result in complaints. You can try and make the complaint numbers higher, but let's rope ourselves back to reality. The percentage of people who have had a bad experience with this program is less than 1%. Compare that to other companies out there. That is a good figure. Is that necessarily acceptable? No, not at all. Every company should strive to have no bad experiences, and that is something MD247.com is working hard to achieve.

I am a part of the management team of MD247. First of all, to everyone who have shared their bad experiences, I personally thank you for your feedback. It's funny how happy people never bother to write any feedback when they are happy. But when they are angry, they will write books in an effort to tear down the company who has done them wrong. I don't blame them. I would do the same thing. This is a bitter-sweet thing, because on one hand, the bad reviews give us better insight on where we need to improve ourselves. It shows us that there are some bad apples in our workforce that need to be taken care of. And we execute accordingly. The unfortunate part is that the small number of complaints posted on sites like this give a false appearance that a company is evil.

The best compromise I can think of in situations like this is to have all the unhappy customers first contact management before they decide to trash the company online. I can guarantee that in most cases, a manager will turn most situations back to the customer's favor and satisfaction. But we hardly get any unhappy customers to do that.

Come on guys, you really think we are a joke? Why would the president of the company bother to write his side of the story on a site like this, with only 15 or so complaints? Because he cares. Everyone on the MD247 team cares. One of the focal points of our meetings is to address the unhappy customers that we have wronged. I wish every person that works in this company is perfect. I know that sounds cliche, but that is what I truly wish. I can tell you honestly that we are doing the best we can. We all work 50-60+ hours per week to address how we can make our service better for our customers, existing and potential customers. Our $49.90 per month nearly breaks us even due to the benefits and values we load into that rate. When we charge less than half that price for the first month trial, we literally take a loss. We do this without requiring anyone to commit to any specified period of time. That means we take a monetary risk on every customer in confidence that every customer will use the service and keep it. I understand when cancellations can be difficult on some people. That is exactly why we have management in place. Management is there for you to escalate any situation you believe necessary, and management can step beyond protocol to help make you satisfied. That is always a resource at your disposal. It creates a win-win situation for everyone.

To those who have been wronged, you have my sincerest apology. We are continually working to improve our practices daily, and our goal is to make every customer happy to be an MD247 member.

I just can't decide how to react to the majority of these posts. I mean, someone calls you, you ask how they got your information and then you get angry at them because YOU made public not only your name and address, but also your unlisted cell phone on some form or another on eBay, Amazon or some such, or just by sending off for some random catalog. News flash: everytime you share your number...you SHARE your number.

And really? You're complaining about someone hanging up on you when you just admitted you got upset and told them you're not interested? Would you have NOT complained if they did their job by tring to convince you to "just give it a try"? Of course not...you'd have been doubly irate & happy to share that with the world too!

A little insight: at least 98% of all companies that use telemarketing to introduce their products and services must protect themselves against either defamation, or from customers who suffer from "Buyers Remorse". That's where smart companies' Quality Control depts come into play. Ever heard the statement "All calls are recorded for training purposes and quality control"? Guess what? All calls are recorded for training purposes and quality control.

Want to know how I found that out? I was one of those nasty old women who called in, all self righteous and irate about how this company was a bunch of scam artists and I wasn't told this and I never said that and "I never agreed to any such thing!"...right up until I heard my own voice saying "4444 4444 4444 4444, expiration date 4/4/2012". It's humiliating to get it thrown back at you that instead of being firm and saying "You know, thanks but no thanks...have a nice day", you have to learn the hard way that you just don't think before speaking. After I sheepishly calmed down, I agreed to finish out the trial.

A couple weeks later I came down with bronchitis. It took about 45 mins from the time I called the 24 hr doctor line to the minute my husband brought home the Rx that doctor phoned in for me. Total cost was $17 for Rx & $0 for the "consultation" (first call was free; all future calls: never was more than $35)...instead of the $3500 it cost the yr before when I had no choice but to go to the ER.

I don't claim to like telemarketers one whit, but honestly? Don't get all mad at someone else because YOU did something dumb.

It has worked out well for me & my husband because $50/mo is a lot cheaper than the $300/mo we WERE paying. Our total cost for healthcare coverage is now just a little over $90/mo. $150 goes into an interest bearing account & we're set for most emergencies.

I'm glad SOME of us are grown enough to not only admit our mistakes, but also learn and benefit from them toJust a few more thoughts on the subject: I've since researched this company's practices. By law, companies who use telemarketing practices aren't ALLOWED to leave messages; if you request to be added to their DNC list, they have 30 days to accomplish it, if you call them, you have voided your DNC status with them and they cannot approach anyone under the age of 18. If you've provided your underage child with a cell phone and/or credit card, you deserve what you get. If your young adult can be trusted to cast an educated vote for president and live on his/her own, perhaps he should be trusted to make healthcare choices. That's why they're called young ADULTS. You say they haven't enough worldly experience to make those choices...

...there you go again, blaming someone else for YOUR actions..or should I say INaction and lack of skills in preparing your kids to make real life, adult choices.

Quit crying, put on your big girl panties and deal with it...or for you whiney guys: you can't hang with the big dogs if you pee like a puppy.
