Merrick Bank Corporation scam, Closed Account, Predatory Bethpage, New York

Merrick Bank is a scam. They closed my account due to too many bank cards. However, they increased my credit card balance to 1,000 with the same bank card accounts open. I have never been late on a payment and I have had the card for almost one year. The supervisor told me that "all credit card companies" do this practice and that it was perfectly legal. I do not understand how, the company reviewed my account and thought it would be a good idea to increase my credit line and then three months later, with the same amount of accounts, deem me too much of a risk and close the account. Then want full payment of what I owe. I feel this is a scam and an unfair credit practice. I was attempting to rebuild my credit after bankruptcy and feel like I have been ripped off and have nothing to do about it. Shanequah

They just did the same thing to me, honestly I have been opening some new accounts recently because I got married in October and was waiting because I knew I would have to change my name. I have had their stupid card probably for 5 years. They have routinely increased my limit without me asking and I pay on time and have good credit. It is B.S.- You earn good credit and you are punnished for being a good risk. Whatever.. I was reading that a lot of people have to pay a maintence fee which I dont currently see that I am paying it is probably their way of pushing you out and luring back in. Owell fortunatley I transferred most of balances and am sitting at 0 apr or quite some time, I was just putting off on dealing with them because I dont use it that much anyway.
