Metro Website Design, how can ‘owner’ Charles Winters keep getting away with it?
I am sorry to say that I have known this character for over thirty years, and have seen him do a lot of shady things throughout the years, but the last five years has gotten so bad I can no longer sit back of do nothing.
He claims to be a professional web designer. Almost everyone who has dealt with him would agree that he is anything but professional. These past five years, having witnessed so many unsatisfied customers, I repeatedly asked him, “how can you keep getting away with it?” He told me that it was a numbers game, and that the web was so vast that he could always find someone who hasn’t heard of him. Sounded like he was saying ‘one born every minute.”
Over a year ago, I decided to Google his name and boy was I surprise to see all the complaints. He has managed to delete many of them, but a few still remain and can be read when you Google: Charles Winters Websites.
What finally drove me to write this report was when I seen him strong-arm an eighty three year old man who just wanted to put his videos on Utube. Charles took his money and put the videos on, completely out of order. The customer asked him to fix it and Charles said, and I quote, “If you don’t pay me more money, not only will I take your videos down off Utube, but I will destroy the originals.” I was there when he said this, and the old man started shaking, and I thought he was going to have a heart attack. Although it wasn't really my business, I told Charles that this was an old man and he should fix the man’s presentation. Charles said, “I don’t care. He isn’t anyone to me. He is going to pay me more money or I’m destroying his videos.”
This is how Charles Winters operates. One of the things I always hear him telling his clients is that the server that they have their website on is having problem. The reason he says this is because he wants to get them to move the site to his server so he can blackmail them by saying “if you don’t pay more money, I will destroy the site.”
So people, be aware, this guy is a white collar crook. If you decide to deal with him you may get lucky, but chances are he will rip you off as well. Best thing you can do is just stay away from him and his shady web design business.
I just don’t know how he has been able to get away with this for so long.
