I wrote a report just before I left for our trip to Mexico. And now I'm back. I was hoping for a decent vacation and did not even have that. Before I left I had tried to work with Armando with Mexico VIP Holidays. He was sticking us in a 2 star hotel when it clearly stated in their contract that it had to be a 3 or better star hotel. He even offered us a free vacation any time we wanted to go to any of the mexico destinations because the vacation was going to be such a disaster. I told him that all I wanted at this point was to be put in a better hotel if we did not resolve that we would talk about another vacation. He was trying to get us into a better resort which met the criteria they outlined. It was a 3 star resort and had better ammenities. I had already at this point filed my first ripoff report but Armando did not know this at that point. The weekend passed and when I called him on that Monday to see what was going on with the switch to a different resort he said forget it he would not work with me to change the resort or give me the vacation he had promised unless I took everything off the ripoff report. I told him that I did not lie that everything put in the report was in fact true. He said forget him helping us in any way because of what I had put out there on the internet. When we got to the resort we had 2 rooms. One my sons stayed in that had 2 double beds and a bathroom. No real move around room but ok whatever. Now when my daughter and I moved into our room we were promised a king bed room. We got into the room and for her and I we got a double bed a small bathroom and an AC that did not work and a drape that was tacked up on the wall. Real high class stuff here. I was told when I called a few days before that we would have connecting rooms and I told them at that time we would need either 2 double beds in a room or a king bed. When I arrived they said that they had not connecting rooms and that my daughter and I would have a king suite. Wow I guess their standards are very low because that is not what we got at all. We spent the next day trying to move rooms. That took up half the day of waiting in the lobby for people to check out because they said they had nothing else for us. Now we were not the only people unhappy. I met a woman outside the front desk that was trying to make reservations somewhere else because the accommodations were horrible and another man upset because his rooms door would not lock. Look up the resort. All the listings show that Dos Playas was a 2 star hotel. The food was awful. The drinks were horrible. Nothing about this place was good except for the massage we got on the first day. Thank GOD for these ladies. They were so kind. We called Armando when we got to the room and asked for his help he basically said too bad and again we asked about the free trip that he offered and he said it is no longer and offer and he hung up on us. Nice guy. I would never ever do business with Mexico VIP holidays again. Nor would I ever give them any business. Im sure Armando took the funds and had a great vacation of his own. I ended up paying $770 per person for this low class vacation. Thanks again Armando for doing nothing for us and for taking away a vacation that you promised us. You would have never offered this vacation if you didnt think you were ripping us off. Enjoy looking for a new job.
