Ministering Angels
Ministering Angels Beware of This Company they pass people of as licensed CNA's when they are not Winchester, Virginia
14th of Dec, 2010 by User208429
I was employed by Ministering Angels for a period of a couple months and was put into several elderly households to care for elderly. The families of these people were told by Pam Banks owner of Ministering Angels that I was the best CNA they had. I was told not to say or fill out any paperwork pertaining to the job as I was an employee of Ministering Angels and that they were responsible for everything. I was told by Pam Banks to use a name of an ex employee whom they had a copy of her expired license. I have never been licensed in my life and I do not even have a Med Tech license but was allowed to administer medication and care to these people. All except one elderly woman requested at least a licensed CNA because their insurance required it and all paperwork was filled out by Pam Banks. This company and it's owner Pam Banks is a liar and a danger to elderly persons by putting unlicensed and not properly trained people into the homes of the elderly.

WOW! I just stumbled upon this. I was researching them and if I could find any complaints. Sure glad I did. When I spoke with ther office they seemed VERY unprofessional and disorganized, so my instinct told me to check them out...

I totaly disagree with the above comments. I found that Ministering Angels, LLC is very compasionate and caring. They provide excellent service and care. They believe in treating people like their own family. I highly reccommend their company to anyone.

Does not sound like the Pam Banks I know. I am a licensed professional and she is very ethical. I have to severly question the authenticity of the post by User208429. Pam Banks is a Christian and extremely particular about the credentials and ethics of her employees, myself being one of them. Unfortunately in the day and age of the internet, anyone can say or post anything they want for any reason. More than likely this post was by as dishonest employee that was let go.

We have had "service" from Ministering Angels for over a year, during which time I have documented ongoing and outrageously unethical business practices; in brief:
-Regularly lying
-Avoiding confrontation with their client; not answering the phone, not responding to messages, etc.
-Providing non-certified/licensed CNAs
-CNA provided us was non-certified, stole from us, lied regularly, did not do half of his job, and falsified his daily care logs.
-Insurance/Medicare fraud: director informed me that CNA needed to fill out daily logs that were not totally true because otherwise Medicare would assume client did not need care and would not pay.
-Blatant HIPAA/privacy violations: director consistently told incoming caregivers and other employees about the mental health issues of client's son.
-One sub caregiver told me about illegal practices he provided for another client. This caregiver slept during his shift and did very little work.
-One caregiver was taken from our home by police and never returned...he was incarcerated. It took Pam Banks two weeks to have his personal items removed from our home, and one month to remove his car from our driveway, even though she told me five times she would remove this the very day of each of my calls to her.
-Now Pam Banks has threatened to report the last "actual" CNA we had, who was a good worker, for HIPAA violations that are non-existent. Pam had the daily log removed from our house and now says that our last CNA has no paperwork to document her final weeks at our home, so she is not paying her.
-I have registered complaints against Ministering Angels with the BBB, their own accrediting agency, the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, and other agencies.
_ when Pam Banks learned of my official complaints, she gave us two week’s notice before stopping services. When I sent her copies of my reports, she stopped services immediately, one week short of her stated time frame, leaving us in the lurch.

Owner is very unprofessional, unorganized, and a liar. Will promise employees a raise, a bonus and then after they do what she wants, she avoids them in order to not pay them. Has had money troubles in the past with employees paychecks "bouncing" and then will not even pay the bounced check fees incurred by the employee. I would steer clear of this company, for employment and for care of your family. Most of the staff is acceptable and caring, it's Pam Banks who is dangerous and should not be allowed to operate a business in healthcare.
