I decided to use a nationally recongnised company for any repairs or mot job on my car as i though i would get the best customer service and would be protected by they company policy and warranties. Nationalwide have had my car for over a year and half, after they changed my timiing belt in my Renault Megan in december 2008, the engine knocked in may 2009 and was returned to nationwide who accepted responsibility changed the engine , i collected the car a month later in june 2009 only to find out that the engine management light kept coming back on , i immediately retuned it to the shop whom said that it was just a normal problem and they sorted it out, after driving the car for a few day same problem came back and returned the car, Nationwide now said the problem was with the turbo of the car and refused to accept responsibility for the problem claiming this was due to wear and tear. After 3months of the car been with natiowide and on the day i told them i was coming to take the car to a official Renault dealer to see what type engine and repaire were done to the car, on the morning of picking the car up i was told that the car was sent off to be rechecked and they now decided might be their fault and repired( changed the engine again after about 3/4 months i received car back december 2009. I was told to drive the car for 500 miles and bring it back for them to make sure no more oil leaks or problems . After 500 miles some time o=in january the car was returned for which they found out there was some oil leaking in the engine and send it off AGAIN FOR ANOTHER ENGINE AND TURBO CHANGE. The had the car till around JUNE/JULY 2010 AFTER which i was given the car saying the issues was now sorted and the engine had been given a total overall . I was told to drive the car and return it after 500 miles for a check on the engine and also 1000miles for them to do a oil change which i did. I was given the car back saying every was now fine in November 2010, less than 5 months after i was given the all clear i started to see smoke coming from the car and i returned it to NATIONWIDE very disappointed , AFTER 3 WEEKS OF CHECKING i am not been told that they are not responsible and my warrantee on the repair is no more valid. I have been refused a repalecemt car and told that there is nothing they can do . I currently have a 6months old child and a wife and was made redundant this year i still currently pay a hire purchase on the car from cargaint. the car is the only means for which i can get about me and my wife are at our wits end due to the un -co-operating nature of a nationawide company as big as this. WE HAVE been lied to on numerous occasion , even been told that a area manager that was dealing with the case initially had left the company in 2009 only to find out ths year hes is still there. At no time i had a explanation from the company or even a letter of apology on why after 4 engine changes a year and half, i still do not have a functional car. All i have asked natiowide for is to give my car back in a good working condition and what i paid for initially when they fully serviced my car and recommended my timing belt since then i have nothing but trouble and heart ache, lost money from taking 2 weeks off work , money spent on hiring my own car to go to work for 6months and also getting my own MOT done on the car. My car is still currently with nationwide romford as at 17december 2010 2 years after initail repair on the car.
