I was very excited about starting the Doctoral program. I paid my money, got my books and then got told by my employer I had to go out of the US to work. I called the school and spoke to the counselor (thief) who signed me up. He told me all I had to do was call my advisor and let her know that I wanted to move my start date. I called and left a message two weeks before the class start date. That I could not start and wanted to move my date forward as I had been advised I could do. I did not hear anything back until two weeks into the class (convenient huh?) from my advisors assistant. The assistant said she was answering the advisors mail as SHE was "out of the country". Why didn't she answer before the class started? She stated I had missed the drop date. I had already paid over $600.00. So I immediately sent an email back explaining I wanted to move my start date to August, I was told "NO" and that I owed $1,400.00. I have sent emails and argued over the phone that I contacted them prior to the drop date. Here is the best part folks. The class started on July 1. I got the email on July 15th from an assistant responding to MY emai. NO where in that time did I get a call from a professor or advisor wanting to know why I had not turned in any assignments. What was my professor doing, who by the way I don't even know their name and was never told who it was, or I would have contacted them. But I got nothing from the school wanting to know where my assignments were or even a welcome to the class from the instructor. Way to really work "closely with the students" as I was told would happen! I have sent phone bills and emails showing I tried to drop and now they are sending my balance to a collection agency. Since I have excellent credit I can not afford not to pay this. I am a hostage to this university, they are basically blackmailing me saying pay or we will ruin your credit. Do NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY. It is apparent they do not care about the students what so ever all they care about is money. The supervisor who just called me told me the school was "a business". That's right a business, not a place where they want to do quality work for students. So people. Go to another school, where at least you will get a call from a professor or advisor wondering where you are and why you haven't been in class and they will care. North Central cares only about money. Don't go to this school.
