On February 8th 2011 I went into Bank of America to withdraw a lump sum of money deposited onto my Direct Express card from the US Treasury for a back paymemnt of SSI. BOA could not withdraw that sum of money without me being an account holder. I proceeded to open an account and due to a clerical error the money was kicked back to Direct Express and placed into a hold status. Prior to leaving the bank I recieved information from DIrect Express stating that Direct Epxress would release the funds in 24-48 hours if BOA would send a fax stating that the money was not recieved and that they would not attempt to collect the funds. BOA did as requested after they did their own internal investigation and the fax was recieved by Direct Express on Thursday Feb 10th; to date the money is still unavailable to me and no one at Direct EXpress is on the same page. There has been no sympathy, no compassion and this entitiy certainly lacks professionalism. I am being penalized for a bank error and my family and I are facing eviction at any time. I have called at least 15 representatives and the supervisor know was Jake ID #524-107-82 was rude and unprofessional. There has to be someone higher up than the floor supervisor...isnt there someone he has to report to? All I am asking is that m funds that were available on February 8th be available again so I can stop the loss of my home. My wife lost her job, I am in End stage Renal failure and a dialysis patient. I have 3 teenagers and an Aunt who is also ill living in this home. We have no where to go and no funds available to obatin temporary housing should the eviction be finalized before the money is released. I even called on Thursday with a gentleman named Thomas from the financial mamangement area of the Treasury Department who told the staff st Direct Express and one of their supervisors that holding the money when the money was previously available to me is completely unacceptable. The error was not ours and we should notbe made to wait when the funds were cleared and available for use on Tuesday. There should be a case to case policy implemented so that others will not encounter the same ridiculous issues I am having at this time. At this moment I still do not have any more answers than I did Tuesday when I left the Bank without my money. I do not know if the money will be availavble today, tomorrow, next week of in their words 15 buiness days which puts me into March. Does anyone have any other contact information so that I can get the money that was mine to use on Tuesday?
