Orlando Auto Brokers Inc ANTHONY took my $3000 & never signed a contract

Wed 4/20 I viewed a few cars online. I called Orlando Auto Broker to see if they had those cars. They told me yes and to fill out an application online. I filled out 3 applications because they said they never received them. The receptionist called back and transferred me to Eddie, the salesman. He asked me what I was planning to put down for the car. I told him $3000 because I wanted my payments low. He told me to come in. I drove to Orlando from Ocala hoping to get a car. Eddie showed me a 06 grand prix and said that he can get me into the car. He was very persistently with me giving him my money. I told him I wanted to test drive the car and he told me that they dont let customers test drive. He saw that I wasnt going for that so he went to get the keys to let me test drive. When we get back he tells me that I had to give him the $3000 BEFORE starting the finance process. Adina, the saleswoman/manager, came to count the money and gave me a receipt. I told them I would wait until the bank called back to let me know if I was approved or not because I drove to far to come back if I wasnt. Eddie told me that they wouldnt take the money if they knew that the bank wouldnt finance me. Thur 4/21 I called 1030am to see if bank called or not. Eddie tells me no and he would keep me posted. He told me that the bank normally takes 24hrs. After the 24hrs, I called back around 330pm and Eddie tells me nothing. I asked why he never called to let me know and he told me there was nothing to update. I felt that they had my cash so they couldve at least called to let me know something. He said to give them until 7pm. At 7, I still had no call from them so I called to speak to the finance manager, Hector. I asked why no one called to update me on the car or bank decision and he said that Eddie told him that he had been keeping me posted. That was a lie! He said the bank called with a decision earlier and that they were trying to find me another car that the bank was willing to finance. I felt things were getting a little shady so I asked if
I could come get my money and he said yes. Fri 4/22 I come in and Adina assisted me. She apologized for Eddie being aggressive and felt he took advantage. She then tried getting me to in house finance. Told me I could get any car with the payments I could afford ONLY if I give them an EXTRA $1000. I said no and that I found another car that I am going to pay cash for. She had me waiting 2hrs and kept telling me that they were waiting for my check. She then come to me and say I had to contact Anthony which is corporate. She said corporate issue refunds. I
called while I was there and Anthony asked what I needed. He started off rude and very unprofessional. I asked him to explain the refund policy because I NEVER SIGNED A CONTRACT AND I LEFT WITH NO CAR. He told me to shut the hell up
and kept cutting me off. The call was pointless. I instantly cried because I saved all me unemployment checks to get a car so I could have a car to work before the unemployment benefits end. The look on their faces were unbelievable as if this was a fraudulent scam they done often. I went to the car and Nathan came and told me that he apologized for corporate and to come Monday 4/25 to get my check at 1130am. I asked them for a confirmation letter stating their refund policy and they told me that they cannot and will not put that in writing. Mon 4/25 I was on my way to Orlando and decided to call. Eddie picked up but I asked for Nathan. He said Nathan was busy. I asked him was my check ready and he said he was told that I needed to contact corporate. My heart dropped because I knew then that it was going to be more problems that day. Eddie told me that I better come in because this may be ugly. They directed me to Nathan. He told Anthony that I was there to get my check and Anthony instantly got angry. I told him that Nathan sent me and Nathan instantly denied it as if he was scared of losing his job. Anthony rudely told me he cant do anything at the office and to fax the receipt over. I asked for a confirmation of the refund policy and he wrote on a piece of paper saying that he will refund me if I purchased no car. I contacted the police department. They came and did nothing. I just dont know what to do. Before I left, Eddie said that he will be leaving on 5/2/11 because this has been happening too much in the past few months. I have faxed over my reciept and its been a week. I tried calling Anthony and Nathan to see if they received the fax and if my check was sent yet but they wont answer or return my calls. Nathan told me and the police officer that checks normally take up to 72hrs. I am all cried out and dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP!

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I've have a very similar situation with them recently. They are criminals!!! Have you contacted the Orlando DMV to file a complaint? They can act in your behalf to resolve this issue. I would also contact a lawyer. Are you female? Perhaps we can file a gender discrimination lawsuit against them.
