The PeolpleSmart.com "Free Trial" offer is a scam. They advertise for you to be able to search information but as soon as you type in the name of a person you are looking for, they consider it a "Background Report" and charge you the full membership price. Nowhere in the "Free Trial" does it tell you what the services of the "Free Trial" are. Apparently the "Free Trial" covers only things that you can get from an everyday common internet search that are free from several sites. Please don't waste your time with this service, or any other service that offers a "Free Trial" because nothing is every "Free"

The free trial membership covers the items included in a basic PeopleSmart membership, like people searches, reverse phone lookups, and email searches. On our site, you can see this list at http://www.peoplesmart.com/?_act=join. You can purchase premium reports at an additional cost.

I paid money and did a background search using people smart- got wrong information - the person in the court mentioned that they get lot of people coming in up with wrong information. This can throw bad light on an innocent person and totally unfair to them. Also, it was a one time check but they kept charging every month. I have to call them and cancel it. Horrible Business

I have had the same experience, you pay for a background check and they set up an automatic withdrawl from your credit card or paypal and then withdraw money without your permission until you notice it. When you ask them about it they dont respond to leaving you with the task of getting the money back from the cradit card company or paypal. DOnt use them they are a scam.
