PROMETRIC
PROMETRIC The test is set up as a money scheme. And if you try to appeal you will never ever speak to an actual person. MAIL ONLY. ST, PAUL, Minnesot

I took my CNA test in Florida. I have been a Licensed CNA in NY for over 10 yrs. On the day of my test I arrived around 8:30a. WE did not begin the written part of the exam until around 9:45a. I then waited until 1pm. to take the clinical part of my exam. Everything that was asked of me I did. I knew for a fact that I was correct, and I was comfortable. The instructor said to us at the beginning of the test "please pretend I am not in the room". But on my final skill she stopped me. I was about to start brushing a set of false teeth. She said to me please use the bottled water. Now any person with common sense knows that when taking a test you cannot ask any questions. And I found it a bit strange that initially she asked us to not acknowledge her presence, then she stops me before a skill and asked me to do something different. FOr those of you that don't know, when you are cleaning false teeth it sould be done in the sink with constant running water, but when you work in a hospital you will learn that some people don't want you to use tap water for various reasons. Anyway, I carried out my skill as asked. A few momenrs later we were asked to leave the room and she called us seperately to tell us if we passed or failed. I was confident, that everything ws fine. Then she called me in the room and said that I had failed. Why did I fail you ask? Because I used the bottled water. I said to her that you asked me to use the bottled water instead of going to the sink. She told me that if I had a problem, I could write an appeal. (This just proved that I knew what I was doing all along, and my confidence wasn't cockiness) I did write an appeal, and they told me there was nothing they could do. I would just have to retake the test at the tune of $125. The class was $550. The initial test was $200 and the retake was $125. And to add insult to injury, they will never allow you to speak to the appeal board. They claim that they are too busy, and do not speak to the general public. What a crock. The retake fee includes getting another background check. SO if you did your background check on Jan 1 it takes 6-8wks to get back your results. Then you take the test and you fail. If you go right back and sign up to retake the test right away you still have to redo your backgroud check. This company is unbelievable. And when you call their call center. Beware, all of the operators seem to have had a bad day. They are very nasty. Beware of Prometric. They are a conglomerate. And they need more people to speak out against their unfare practices.
