The shopping may be good here. But consider, as you browse: you may be picking out what amount to "stolen" goods. These guys came out to my house and picked up a living room couch and chair, an oak dining set, bar height table and chairs, dresser, antique rocking chair and several more pieces for consignment sale. All were in good condition and they seemed very happy to have them. Months later, after we'd settled into our new home in another state, I had heard NOTHING from Gary Pruitt. I called and left a message. No response. Finally, I happened to get Gary Pruitt on the phone one Sunday morning. (He sounded like he wished he had just let it ring.) He hemmed and hawed about not wanting to send money for the several items that had sold, some immediately, until there was a more substantial sum. I asked him to please send it (per the signed paperwork). He said, "I'll get a check in the mail tomorrow." Right. You guessed it. That was three weeks ago. Nada. To sort this out, I will probably have to make a 900-mile trip back to Elk Grove. My advice: If you want to give away your furniture, choose a worthier cause than Pruitt's Loft.
