| Looking for a your first home should have been a fun exciting experience, but it turned out to be a nightmare. I saw a house for sale near where I would like to live. One day I decided to call the number. The real estate company was Reece and Nichols. The realtor on the sign forwarded me to another realtor name of Wayne Smith. I called the number to him and he told me when and where to meet. I was a bit early but he called me and said he was going to be late, 5 min late. When we went into the house there was no appliances included in the house. I liked the house and then we went outside. Someone stole the air conditioning unit, and Wayne Smith indicated that if I wanted the house to buy and air conditioning unit. I really liked the house but to buy my own a/c unit, I decided not to. He then had me on the MyHome program and I told him what I was looking for in a house, my first and only house. I told him one or two bedroom, a digital thermostat, not many stairs and not near a High School. The houses he showed me were awful and needed a lot of repairs. I also told him the price ranges and not anything over $100,000.00. Some of the houses had a high driveway, and Wayne Smith could not drive his car up the drive way and when he heard a scraping sound when he tried to drive up the drive way he almost had a baby. When we checked his car, no damage to his car and he said if I wanted the house to park on the street. He also decribed how beautiful the area was. The next house had a bamboo walk path to the house and I thought that was strange. The inside of the house was even stanger. Undescribable. He stated the area was beautiful and decirbed all the flowers in the neighbors yards. I also wanted an attached garage to the house. One house he showed me did not even have a garage. He stated in a letter to the BBB that I was difficult and only viewed my choices. That is so wrong. The one house I did chose was perfect. Perfect location for me, inside everything new. New washer and dryer, new carpet, new refrigerator, new carpet, new digital thermostat, new range and new dishwasher. I told him to call on it and he refused to to look at other houses. When I insisted after looking at other nightmare houses he did call and it was sold from another family. The price was even in my price range. It was gone my beautiful house was gone. He was even happy it was sold and to move on. I did not want a house with a basement or even look at houses with people in it but we did and acted very oddly, stated its his birthday and too look at houses with people in it on his birthday. I knew something was wrong with him at this time. The time was almost up on the first home buyers deadline so time was of the essance. The last house he showed me was ok. It needed a lot of work and out of my price range. The house listed $105,000.00. He promised me he could get the price down to $100,000.00. A few days later he called and said he could only get the prices down by $300.000. I was stuck. I wanted to back out but the deadline was near. Wayne Smith did not even see how much repair the house needed and the house was estimated at $75,000.00 not $105,000.00. When the home was inspected, the house inspector said that the fireplace was ok, it cost me over $2,000.00 (also a friend of Wayne Smith) to have fix. When the home inspection was over the men decided to talk in my kitchen. I said I was going to the bathroom and to not open the door cause no locks on the door. A few minutes late Wayne Smith said my name and I told him again not to open the door. What does he do? He opens the door, and I had to forceably shut the door cause Wayne Smith forced the door open so he can talk to me. I as so angry I had to wait a few min (10 to be excate) to calm me down so I will not land in prison. He is not worth it. He did not even say he was sorry, like nothing happened. I did not even want him to call me anymore cause when he left message on my voice mail, he told me to tell my boss how to run his business cause I was not at Waynes Smith beck and call. I told him not to call me anymore and what does he do, call me, twice. I just hung up. There was one day, before that I had to sign some papers on the house and I told him not to change the driveway, what does he do, suggest the drive way to be fixed up. That day he wore shorts, t-shirt, and flip flops. How unprofessional. I told him a few days later I was uncomfortable with him and to not come to the closing and what does he do? Comes to the closing. He just did not listen. He only listens to what he thinks should be done. I was glad this nightmare was over. I spoke with he so-called Supervisor and it fell on deaf ears and had an excuse for everything he did. I felt ripped off and felt like nothing could be done. not untill now. Please if you feel that your real estate agent is acting oddly, run away from him or her. It was a nightmare for me and still feel the pain for what he did. |
