t Maine is among the shrinking minority of states that mandate annual or biannual safety inspections for passenger vehicles. Lawmakers in most states have repealed or significantly curtailed inspections in light of research that strongly suggests the programs are not a cost-effective way to reduce traffic accidents. Between 1980 and 1993, the number of states mandating annual inspections dropped from thirty to twenty-three. I think its time for the the law to go we are getting rid of a few why stop when were on a roll i want my kids to enjoy Maine not to have the Goverment running there lifes here also our taxes are high enough .! if they dont like the rust on our cars let the State fix it if its such a concern i see mor fatalitys with new cars all the time .? Whats erong with pitchure are people in this State to lazy to stick up for them selfs ..? and why anyone would vote in a seat belt law is beond me.? It just goes to show you how brain washed most people are.? you dont have to wear seat belts on a motor bike or helmit .? but riding a peddle bike you do people dont think..Mabye there drinking to much when they vote
