| I was a young naive aspiring model / actor from Australia. Ron Eckstine had contacted me in 1999. I had only been online in 1998 so the internet was still new to me. Ron found my website on a modeling forum. He told me he is the son of Billy Eckstine and gave me a link to Ron Eckstine Management. I was rather impressed with his bio. He faxed the industry breakdowns to me in Australia. I was so excited to see actual breakdowns of roles for upcoming TV and film projects in the USA. Ron encouraged me to move to LA as opposed to a few months. I first came to the US in 1995 as a visitor with my mother and fell in love with the country. I knew this is the country where dreams could come true and you didn't have to explain or defend your dreams which was common in Australia amongst "boring repetitious 9 - 5 folk". I ended up moving to LA in August 1999 and stayed with an elderly friend of my family in Redondo Beach. Ron had picked me up from Redondo Beach as I was without a car and we went over to his office in Beverly Hills. On the drive to his office, Ron asked me if I was single. At the time I was and he was pleased. He tried to assure me that girls who have boyfriends while trying to establish their careers, wouldn't be successful as their relationships would get in the way and he didn't want to work with those that were in a relationship. We got to Ron's office which was his apartment in Beverly Hills. He told me he wanted to take polaroids of me to submit to clients. He said clients prefer natural polaroid type of pictures as opposed to headshots. We took modeling photos in Beverly Hills on the street. I was so excited with doing a shoot in "Beverly Hills". Ron let me use his computer. He used his giant plasma TV as the computer screen which was in the lounge. I felt a little odd checking my emails on a large screen that he could read so I minimized the screen on occasion. I was in the country as a visitor and was wanting to get a Green Card. Ron assured me he could get this for me and apparently spoke with a lawyer friend. Ron said it would cost him $500. As the day rolled in to evening, Ron suggested I stay the night and he had a couch that I could stay on. I would have preferred to go back to Redondo Beach but he said the drive was a little long and I could go back tomorrow. Not knowing my way around LA or even a cab number, I ended up sticking around. Soon Ron had showered and was ready to go to bed. He said I could come in to the bedroom if I wanted. I said I was fine on the couch. He asked me a few times but I hesitated. Soon enough, I had turned out the lights and was on the couch ready to sleep and Ron appeared right before my eyes with his hand out. He walked me back to the bedroom. I asked where I am going to sleep and he said beside him. I wasn't comfortable with this but he assured me I would be only sleeping beside him and foolishly I went in to the bed. He began rubbing his penis up and down my leg. I became so upset and had tears pouring down my cheeks. I so desperately wanted to believe he was not like this. He said he wanted to play sexual "games" and if I played "games" with him, he would pay for my Green Card. I refused. Clinging so desperately to any hope I confronted him by asking if that meant he would not represent me. He said he wouldn't and then later changed his answer by saying yes. I was crying my heart out. Ron began masturbating in front of me had wanted me to lower my panities as he did so. I picked up my bag and belongings. At that time, Ron's stripper roommate Roxanne came home and closed her bedroom door. I knocked on her bedroom door and she opened it and looked at my tear stained face with no emotion. He told me he had so much money from his father and I told him he is spoilt. A cab picked me up and it was a very expensive ride back to Redondo Beach. I called the Screen Actors Guild to report the story but I never reported it to the police. A month or so after the incident, a photographer had gotten in touch with him and I busted him through clues he had left that he was associated with Ron Eckstine. He denied it but the next day I got an email from Ron saying he heard all was going well with me. I want to warn everyone to stay away from this mentally ill and deranged con artist. Because of what Ron did I have suffered depression and panic attacks and relationship problems. I am currently receiving cognitive therapy for what this monster did. |
