Rooms To
Rooms to Go Furniture is overpriced and falls apart within the first year, and they tell you theres nothing they can do! San Antonio, Texas
17th of Aug, 2011 by User906394
We purchased our living room set from Rooms to Go two years ago for over $2000.00. When received it had to send back several times for scratches and cuts in the leather. We finally got a decent one delivered. Then several times the legs kept breaking. I am only 120 lbs and we are barely home, so not sure why legs on a sofa that is over $2000.00 would keep breaking. Then the "leather" is stapled to the frame and all the staples came out of there "wood" so the whole thing is falling apart. The only offer a 1 year extended warranty and say someone will call for an extended warranty. I never received the phone call. Close to the end of my warranty the wired lever used to recline broke. I called customer service and was told i needed to go to the store. At that time i had medical issues and couldnt make it to the store for quite a few months. I finally made it to the store, spoke to a sales associate and he told me to walk around the store to see if i like any other set. As i was looking i noticed they didnt sell my current set anymore and none of the sofas had the wire lever mechanism like mine. I asked the rep why and he said they discontinued my set due to the lever being faulty and breaking all the time. So i picked out a new set and the manager took the information and went to his office. He came back and said theres nothing he can do because my warranty is already expired. I told him that when i called for the problem it was still in warranty but i couldnt make it to the store. He tells me that the rep i spoke to at customer service never put the notes in the system, and theres nothing he can do that im stuck with a $2000.00 unsafe sofa. It has sharp wires hanging out of the tube with broken plastic pieces and i have a one year old. He told me that i have to contact customer service. I did and they tell me the same thing "sorry your warranty is expired we cant help." i then contacted corporate hoping they can help seeing how my sofa set was discontinued and they no longer make the lever due to the fact it keeps breaking. Nope no help they told me the same thing "your order is soooooo ollllldddd we cant help" So old????? my furniture is only two years old!!! you expect a set that was over $2000.00 should last longer then two years! nope rtg says that after ONE YEAR your on your own. They should not get away with making a faulty part, pocketing my money then telling me to basically eat my money because my couch doesnt function and it is dangerous for my daughter to sit on! Its not right that we have to suffer because more then one person didnt do their job correctly! RTG should not be able to sell furniture and be in business when all they care about is making the sale and selling furniture that falls apart.
