On Saturday June 18, 2011, I purchased a used Gray Nissan Sentra 2009 Vin number 3N1AB61E49L642493 at Schaumburg Lincoln-Mercury 1200 E. Golf Road Schaumburg IL 60173. I went in the dealership with Internet advertising from the Schaumburg Lincoln-Mercury for the car I wanted to purchase. The Internet advertising stated it was a 2009 2.0 S FE Nissan Sentra in the amount of $13,950.00. I strongly believe this is a case of false advertising. This ad had indicated the car has Cruise Control, Power Driver Mirror
and Power Passenger Mirror, Steering Wheel Audio Controls. This car does not have any of it! I then test drove the car with Sales Consultant Mike Carter. The whole time I test drove the car, Sales Consultant Mike Carter he had talked and talked the whole time completely distracting me and making me not even realize the car was a 2.0 and the amenities in this car were not in the car as they appeared in there Internet Ad! At this point I was overwhelmed and trying to process so much at one time and no I had no intentions of buying a car that day, I just wanted to talk numbers! As you know how pushy car dealers can be, I ended up purchasing the car and yes most everyone who purchases a car is overwhelmed in doing so. I purchased the car for $17090.25 with a 4.9% interest at the total cost of my purchase on credit including of my down payment of $3000.00. After the amount of the payment after 75 payments it will be a total of $14,090.25. Is it 75 payments or 74? Its states two different payment terms on contract too. First of all I dont think if the ad read $13,950.00 there would be the fees and taxes that would ad up to over $4000.00. So they lied about the cost of the car in there ad and because my down payment was $3000.00 they took my down payment off the $17,090.25. So they totally took advantage of me because I could have
bought a 2011 for the same prize or cheaper. How sad is that!! Now I drove it home to find out the remote to lock and unlock the door did not work and also noticed a light was on while driving the car. I took the car back the same day and spoke with Chris Manzo Finance/Internet Manager who sold me the car and Chris Manzo referred me to Paul Bochenek General Sales Manager of my concerns. Paul Bochenek had told me the remote probably needs a battery you can go anywhere to purchase one, it cost about $1.49 and oh and about the light that is lit is the tire pressure light you will have to go to the Nissan Dealer and they probably have to adjust it, its nothing. I was like youre kidding me right!! I just bought a $14090.25 car and this is what you tell me! Paul then gave me a second remote for my trouble which also did not work. I then purchases batteries at $5.99 for two and replaced batteries in both remotes as these still did not work! When I told Paul Bochenek General Sales Manager he gave me a print out of how you program the remotes, this is how you treat your customers that just spend there hard working money at your dealer really!!! On Monday July 20, 2011 I went to Nissan Dealer as they are closed on Sundays. I went to Nissan to have them look at the
remotes to hopefully program them as I could not do it. The gentleman in the service department had told me the one remote will not work because it does not belong to the car I had just purchased, it has a different model number on it and it would cost $150.00 to be replaced. I showed him the internet ad from Schaumburg Lincoln-Mercury and he informed me the car in the ad was not the car they sold me, the car in the ad is a 2.0 S Nissan Sentra 2009 the car that was sold to you is a 2.0 Nissan Sentra 2009. I then went back to Schaumburg Lincoln Mercury and told Chris Manzo Finance/Internet Manager what I had been told at the Nissan Dealer and asked what is the return policy on a used car. Chris Manzo Finance/Internet Manager
told me in a horrible cocky voice there is none! I find it hard to believe that the State of Illinois does not provide consumers the ability to return a used car that is clearly apart of a bad deal/transaction. I told them I dont want the car and left the car. As I left Sales Consultant Mike Carter says with a rude voice whats with the buyer remorse! As Paul and Chris laughed! After leaving the car there about an hour and a half, I then received a call from Paul Bochenek General Sales Manager threatening me you better pick up the car now or it will be towed at your expense, and when I asked Paul were the car was being told he wouldnt tell me were he was going to tow it ! Paul wouldnt even give me time to get back there, as at that time I needed a ride! I had to beg him to give me a half hour to get there as I was coming from Streamwood! I then picked up the car. This has now caused me to loose a whole day of work when it was to be a couple hours taken off of work On Tuesday June 21, 2011 went to the Nissan Dealer to have the tire pressure light checked as Paul from Schaumburg Lincoln Mercury said I had to do. The service department at the Nissan Dealer did a diagnostic on the tire pressure light and said it had to be replaced and the air filter was much corroded and needed to be changed as this will cost you $215.00 as it did two days after purchasing this car!! He also indicated the tires in the back will need future attention as the thread is 3.3 and these tires that are on the Nissan are the wrong size tires and these are not the Nissan hub caps for this car!! I do realize in purchasing a used car it comes as is and there is no warranty if you do not purchase one but I went back the same days within hours with my concerns of what was wrong with the car. There has to be something they could have done being it was within hours of the same day of purchase and really what is the return policy used or not. I really believed there was a three day law. This is a perfect example of woman being taken advantage of and discriminated against!! Most people are happy and excited after purchasing a car as for me I am so disappointed and terribly upset and sad!! I work very hard for my money as most people do and times have been very tough financially for me and now I get a car sold to me that is not the car I went to purchase and I am very un happy and couldnt even bring it back the same day I bought it!! All the car is to me is a horrible reminder of what happen to me and that I will have this reminder for the next six years.
