My fiancee went to prison and was later placed in a county jail in Wisconsin. At that jail, Securus Correctional billing was the phone company that the jail used. Everytime that he called home, it cost me a$4.95 connection fee, along with a .69 per minute fee. The calls, which were lasting 15 minutes cost me $15 dollars a call!
I noticed that when I put $100.00 on the phone, I only received 5 calls, because there was also a fee of $6.95 just to PUT the money on the phone so he could call! There is no other phone service that he could use, so we had to pay it. This , however, put a strain on out relationship since the [phone was the only way to talk to him, and we ahd even thought about breakig up many, many times. This is truly a scam, and I wish that were some way to help out!
