I went to this repair shop last winter because my fan belt was squeaking when the engine started, due to the cold weather. Belts contract in the cold and will begin to slip. After telling the shop Manager the problem, he said they would tighten it for "free." That should have made me suspicious, but I figured they were just trying to get new customers, so I waited 20 minutes and constantly made a visual check on my truck. I never saw anyone near it. I then went to the Manager again and asked how much longer it would be. He said that he and his mechanic had checked the belt and it was tight (notice he didn't say that they tightened it). He then said that it was probably my transmission "throw out bearing" that the they would have to drop the transmission for $250 and then install a new bearing for about $30. I told him I couldn't wait any longer and left. I did not have time to take my truck to another place, but he weather warmed back up and the belt stopped squeaking. There is nothing wrong with the transmission. It works fine. These guys are just Repair Pirates that want to take your money for phoney problems. Do not take your car or truck there for any reason! If you car breaks down in front of the place, push it down the street to another repair shop.
