Sent me a check, not any good

I got an envelope with no return address. Inside was a check, looked real, for $3,950. All I have to do is call Ray Owen at 1-905-598-6360 and allow him to authorize my check and certify it and then I will need to pay the taxes on the winning of $2950. Like this will happen. I wasn't born yesterday. I really think this needs to be handled and ended. The address of the company is Shoppers Point of Sale Sweepstakes, 3960 Howard Hughes Pkwy Suite 160 Las Vegas, NV 89169,, Fax is 1-206-337-8745..

Something needs to be done to stop this type of fraud. Perhaps a letter shouldn't be mailed at all unless there is a return address. It was posted in Canada but there is no postmark DATE..

Will someone contact me? Or is this just an informal complaint..?

Why don't you cash the check, then when it bounces take it to the DA

Sue, I received the same identical letter yesterday. I contacted Ray Owen very rude when I could not understand some of what he was saying and asked him to repeat himself. I was concern when the envelope did not have a return address, but the check looked very real. I googled search the bank and the company and they are legit, but I also googled Shoppers Point of Sale Sweepstakes and that's when I came across the reports.

I agree something needs to be done. I will contact the police here to alert others about this, especially elderly individuals.

I have Received the check too.What can people do to stop these people like this.we have a lot of problems in the world.we do not need this shit in are lives.

i recieved the same check today, i agree it looks very real. there was a return address on mine however and that is how i came across these similar complaints. when i called "ray owen" all i recieved was a full voicemail box. it seemed much to easy to be true, i'm glad i looked into it before being decieved. thank you all for taking the time to post your complaints.
