I received the letter from shoppers point of sales sweepstakes ,60 east 42nd st new york 10017 suite 1404 tel 647-219-1876 with a promise of winning 65000 and a check for$3950 as partial payment. the check was written on a m&T bank in baltimore,md......company elevator mordenization co.inc.
Phoney looking letter and check. Beware

I just received this letter along with a check today. I called they said to deposit the check in my checking account and once it cleared the bank, they would contact me and tell me where to send 2950.00 4 insurance in processing fee. after doing so I would receive a check via ups in the amount of 65, 000.00, the remainder of my prize money. I will be turning this over to the authorities. do not cash the checks! they are fraudulent and it is a felony!

Just received the exact same letter "GiveMeABreak0411" received. I will be following up on what authorities I should turn this over to. Thanks GiveMeABreak for taking the time to post. I am very careful about "checks" and "prize letters" received in the mail ...We are like most everybody else right now and this would have been a "blessing"...so for once I ALMOST called. So thankful to find your post before I called. Can you tell me what authorities I should contact? This is just a terrible thing to do to people at such a time of need and these people should be stopped!
