Southern Management Systems The Registry at Bowling Green; deceitful business practices; hard-hitting credit assassins; petty, good-looking crooks Orl
30th of Oct, 2011 by User159268
I lived in a 'campus housing' type apt. that is either owned by, run by, or maybe 'collected on' by these people. I did always know that the 'parent company' was run out of Orlando, because the zip code (I learned while living there) happened by chance to be one lived under by a close friend--32708. The place was mismanaged to the hilt, and always by the best-looking little frauds ever spawned this epoch--by that, I mean they were hideous, vile, contemptible little people, always getting into trouble themselves, and running the entire housing complex (over 200 units easy) into the ground. I own and operate a small business in town, and while living there, came across several of my own customers who had become familiar with the cut-throat antics of this group of hedonistic, greedy little crazies. One of my better-paying clients is a wealthy, self-made business owner, who strongly advised me to get myself out of the place as soon as I could, because of the level of fraud, cheating, trickery, and downright deceitful practices of the group while his own daughter stayed there. I'd been there for nearly two years, so--according to the managers I'd spoken to (all FOUR of them, different ones, come to remember, like a turnstile, that bunch) I was coming up on a time when I could go 'month-to-month', and just decide when I'd want to leave, myself. Interestingly enough, their absolute disdain for human safety, disgust for honest working tenants, favoritism for drunken, spoiled rich, non-paying ones, and their penchant for dropping 'included' services every month without warning, made my leaving a necessity. Yet, after being sweet-talked myself every time I paid my rent, for months, as soon as I mentioned moving 'for real', to the 'latest manager-of-the-month' (a haughty, Stiletto-heel-wearing, community-college-trained trollop), she began threatening to evict me instead ('surprise!--we're actually quite nasty!'), ruining my credit, and actually went about making it impossible for me to pay my rent the last two months I was there (once by posting false office hours, then later by literally locking me out and refusing to accept my rent payment at 4:01PM, leering at me through the glass door in person). To protect my credit and future tenancies against false negative comments on my credit report, I felt forced to justify my reason for leaving; so, upon leaving (two months AFTER I was supposed to have entered into the month-to-month tenancy, BTW), I sent one final email to the office manager, and this group of 'owners' or whatever in Orlando; it was a bulleted list of well over 30 points where this local office had broken my lease agreement by ceasing to provide the services in my original, and later, 'revised AND/OR concurrent' lease agreements. Here are a few of the more 'substantially-memorable' reasons, straight from memory; again, 'bulleted' to make them more easily followed: trash left for weeks uncollected outside rooms all throughout the complex 'inclusive' cable TV beyond viewability loud, noisy parties thrown all through the week, including drummers, bands, etc.; office workers openly, brazenly, and drunkenly bragging at night (right in front of the ex-cop night watchman), claiming responsibility for multiple concrete building blocks that had been thrown from the roof onto the city sidewalk below for a number of weeks. These were 50+lbs. each conglomerate blocks...nothing was ever done about it. trash being thrown onto unit sidewalks from the local WKU Hilltopper Football team from the back of their pickup truck on the way from their practice field to the regular one; never cleaned up, always left for tenants to do, with 'reprisals' for not having 'pride' in their complex. (Yeah, right about that). speaking of trashy---some of the most provocative outfits ever worn by apt. ownership anywhere--it was like they were always making a porn in the complex somewhere; and hateful, meretricious, terrible attitudes to match--they never did a thing other than sit around collecting money, all day long. Stiletto heels that never saw stairwells, I assure you--that office manager had her 'men' running 'inspection' errands all day, whenever she was supposed to do these herself, even signing off as her. The 'girl' was a tramp (not like Disney either). inspections were bought off--often, if management or higher-level staff had 'partied' at the unit the night before (often coming down to the office straight from somebody's apt. from an 'overnight visit', smelling--and looking--like a dead prostitute, for those who think I'm writing like a little prude). absolute defiance in the face of responsibility of any kind toward keeping the units safe, or even livable... specific examples include, but were not limited to: glass bottles constantly being left broken all over unit stairs; glass, trash, other objects regularly being thrown from outside balconies to other unit balconies; as mentioned above, actual staffers bragging about heavy objects being tossed from rooftops every night for weeks (whether true or not, they were drunk, if was inappropriate behavior, and it was witnessed in person within five feet of a standing, on-duty, night watchman) (this one was the worst) my girlfriend stepped into an OPEN 'proprietary' manhole left open on the property after one of their ill-advised 'redesigns' (they pulled up a bunch of trees and left dozens of gaping two-foot holes for people to step in), and she did, and she nearly broke her shin off in the hole (for those who think THIS is funny, someone like her is working somewhere to fix yours if you do the same--she's a hard-working, dedicated nurse respected by her peers and total strangers alike here in Bowling Green)...to make things worse, she actually 'respected' this last manager because she had been HER own mgr. just before, at her last apt., before this mgr. had 'moved up' to more money at 'the Registry'. What a trollop--like I said; I'd mentioned the danger of the open holes about the place for days, with no action taken--it would be two months before they were closed off semi-permanently, and a month before even being MARKED as unsafe! trash left un-collected was left for weeks during the winter, causing a monumental bug/dog/vagrant problem at the units, making them uninhabitable for paying customers (would've been wonderful to house the homeless, I told 'em!) a car was set afire on top of the parking structure as part of some jilted lover's quarrel, one night. they practiced no common sense or practical sense, wisdom, or gave any thought, to the people they 'brought together' in units, often causing unbelievable strife and violence the first night 'new clients' lived together...read on next... every week, guns were found on the property, and also each week, during my last days there, the unit was actually written-up in the local newspaper in the 'police' section, for anything from drug dealing activity, to outright violence, to loud parties all night long, to being a haven for thieves to hang out...this never ended the entire time I was there, and I was always looking for another place, from 'day one'; during the winter, the only 'ice-melt', or even just 'salt', that was put out on the very deceptively-white-colored sidewalks was just within the 5 yards nearest the main office, where you paid your bills. People would slip and fall coming and going, but the management, and all staff, would sit tight in the main office during all bad weather, to collect your money, in the most insulting and ridiculous manner, as greedily as imaginable, ignoring the constant requests to 'please put out more salt' by each and every tenant who came in to pay their bill. several cars were stolen there per year, which weren't ever found or returned. to close this heading, I'll also mention that the unit was always having mysteriously unexplained technical issues with its' fire alarm, which went off, many nights per week, even several times per night, winter more often than not. By 'unexplained', I mean that questions/comments were treated with the utmost disdain, filed in the trash right in front of tenants, without ever being treated with any seriousness--the problem went on for my entire tenancy there--over two years. It cost the city literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary false fire alarm responses, to the point that the city was following out a lawsuit to sue the unit owners for repayment. the aforementioned services that were dropped, went as follows, along with promises that were made verbally and on posters slipped under doors, that were never kept: first, it was mere trash pickup (from being picked up at doors, to, without announcement of any kind, you were to remove it to the dumpsters near the parking garage) as I've said here, 'inclusive' Cable TV was of such poor quality that it was unwatchable at all times...this, I found later, was the only thing not directly the fault/responsibility of the ownership/staff at 'The Registry', but actually a local home-owner who was also a 'Ham-radio' enthusiast, operating an antenna over the legal power rating...HOWEVER I will say this here, that I figured this out in my first year there (his antenna was BIGGER than his house, and the whole thing was viewable right out the manager's office window); reported it to the office there without action, also the local cable company, EVEN the FCC! with no action resulting ever...in fact, I actually WORKED for the guy just this year, gave him some 'heck' about it, and we then laughed it off (because the people responsible for making him legal never did anything about it--even the cable company). the 'included' 'broadband internet' there was 'piped-in' from Florida, a ridiculous affair seeing as how it was basically negligible for use at all (in my last months there, I'd gotten my 'roomies' to go in with me and actually buy 'real' broadband internet from the local Insight company...once I helped the installer, we finally 'had' broadband internet, until my move out. my last month there, they abruptly dropped the 'included' telephone service to the point tenants couldn't even make 9-1-1 emergency calls from their units (which had been necessary numbers of times of the past few years since it opened); this, without announcement, warning of any kind, supposing no one would notice(?!), and everyone would keep paying their now-exorbitant rent; people left in droves, at which point the next few comments are necessary as a result of the only 'actions' I ever saw from the 'Registry' management. One year after leaving, I went online to check my credit. The wealthy customer who had advised me to 'get out' had had no problems with his own credit, nor had his daughter, by his own account, anyway, so I'd given it enough time to play out, so I checked online. This bunch of unchecked little vipers had gone in and attempted single-handedly to assassinate my credit--to destroy my future tenancy attempts. I'd lived under the local PVA, and many other slumlords, without this vile, evil, remonstrative, and petty stuff, but not these guys! They had made several false statements--unchecked, unverified, but followed-out and faithfully repeated in true dirty gossip-style by the irresponsible credit reporting agencies. None of the statements was even verifiable at all (they had falsely reported that I had moved out without fulfilling my lease obligation, which was false for the many reasons I list here); no attempts had been made to contact me regarding the false issues they'd listed; my report back to the credit agencies, citing literally dozens of glaring omissions/falsifications on 'The Registry's' side of things, unnecessarily in contempt in an attempt to ruin my credit out of petty, blind, larcenous, rage, was never answered. After that, I lost faith in the culpability, viability, the reliability, and even the purpose, of the online credit reports, at least for me, for the purposes of tenancy (so you know, I don't live out of a dumpster yet!). 'The Registry'--such a good-looking bunch of little drunken miscreant, snotty little sots--had gone after my steadily-decaying credit like a pack of wild dogs. They tried to kill it, too; intentionally making so many false statements on my report that it was comical--still is--to this day. The idiots who run the online credit-reporting sites need to practice a little better judgment, and accountability toward those they trounce, too, for that matter. It was despicable, but it was all them--like two whores having sex, but both basically ending up with the STDs, themselves! It didn't accurately reflect what had happened there between us, much less stand as an accurate measure of my own personal accountability, reliability, and financial readiness (much less my goodwill, patience, and level-headedness in the face of all I'd endured there!). Look--I don't respect, deserve, or even want 'credit'. I haven't in years. It's a baseless, opportunistic, and treacherous lifestyle to even consider opting for credit, and the incredible few who have the gall to even think they benefit from it are routinely truly despicable people--basically, those who are generally characterized by wanting everything without giving anything--ever! Yay, what a win, what a...positive boon. Yeesh. But, just under them is usually a bunch of dogs like this, ready to pounce on college-kids' virginal credit ratings, knowing how to wait and spring their little greedy traps just in such a way to try and make you feel you could have been included in their own, witless demise, with some sort of remorse, or regret. You couldn't be wasting your soul, thoughts, and even temperament on a more uselessly despondent bunch of cockroaches in all the world. The credit system ('sorry') isn't geared toward anything lasting, real, or good--ever. It is all about impulsive, passing fancies and wants taking hierarchy over needs, and there will apparently always be ravenous packs of dogs like these carefully turning on you after years of lies, 'good faith', and promises...it just doesn't work. For me, this failed as poorly as the education system, failed. I'm not sorry, or especially angry--I'm self-educated enough to make my own way now, in my own role, uniquely created by me, for me, now. Nobody can do what I do routinely for my proven, faithfully-returning, local clientelle (PC repair). The 'credit system' in this case failed to check these jerks in their stance, even though they're likely repeat-offenders on a massive scale. I'm not powerless, but because I still fail to see how this helps anybody. I'm a good, legitimate, honest, never-missing-a-payment, clean, able-bodied, (etc.) tenant--who now gets replaced by who? Or 'what'? Step on up; if it happened to me, it'll happen to you too, with the likes of these people around. They're irresponsible children who've been granted the right to wrangle your suppositional life away, in my mind's eye. The life they'd lead, if they could own, or somehow control it? So, this doesn't mean a thing to me, at all. They are pitiful, pathetic, losers, who will never even trust each other. They are fraternizers who have also been given enough rope to hang themselves, plotting out their demises, financially AND personally. Nonetheless, people like this--if given undue, unchecked, and unabridged power--can easily subject you to economic pain, disappointment, and even personal ridicule, leading to failure and ruin; this is one of the larger unheralded tragedies in America today that is undermining our overall success as citizens here, these days. These people are unleashed dogs, who bide their time until they miss a steak dinner and lash out rabidly at anyone and everyone they ever meet in the future. So--literally--watch out for them, keep them at arm's distance, and find a way to leash them back down so you can get around without being affected by them. The individuals who comprise this group--and this type of group--usually have such dismally poor credit themselves that they should be barred from participating in this type of business...but hey, I've never seen 'good government' being defined as going after packs of financial dogs. They're usually allowed to run around doing whatever they please--there are better things to do. I'm just placing this here to warn anyone who values their personal freedom, their financial freedoms, and their overall independence and self-sufficiency above the dirtier, more dangerous elements of this world, to see, so they're forewarned. I wasn't. Dogs like this weren't let loose when my parents were younger--they were likely put down. Finally...'To each, his own.' Let them keep on behaving selfishly to their living ends, giving each other financial rabies, STDs, and basically crapping all over the place...maybe someday it will magically just disappear. That's 'good government' too, these days.
