Sovereign Bank Check printing fees not disclosed, Internet

I ordered a box of plain checks for my Sovereign Bank account by calling Deluxe Checks, which is the only provider that Sovereign lists on their form at the end of their checks. I called Deluxe's automated line and placed my order. At no time did Deluxe offer a price or offer a menu option to check the price. I made my order and had it delivered by regular post. I received my checks in a timely manner, but to my surprise a couple of weeks later saw that they had charged my account $39 for a single box of checks. That is a truly a ripoff, and I wonder if it is legal to intentionally withold the price. Massachusetts, where I live, at one time, had price disclosure requirements for retail stores. Does anyone know? I called Sovereign. They said that my problem is with Deluxe. I disagree. Sovereign is not taking care of its customers, by proving only exclusive contact information for Deluxe. My bet is that Sovereign receives a "marketing" fee from Deluxe for such services. There is obviously a more direct case against Deluxe, but the public would be well served to put pressure on the banks to provide access to reasonable check costs or at least disclose them
