square enix llc manulife financial Fake Letter, Fake Check El Segundo, California

I received a letter claiming I won $50,000.00 prize, and will need to pay government taxes,insurance & processing fees of $2,450.00 and I received a very real check for $3,950.00 to help me pay this fee with! the letter asks me to call 1-289-981-8275 and speak with "Ray Steven"...the letter is signed by "Shelia Harris" and claims to be accredited by the better business bureau and that the winnings are sponsored by Intel group, Walmart,Sears,Lowes,Home depot, Khols, Kmart,Safeway,Walgreens.......my check is signed by "Carolyn H Carlburg"...the envelope was mailed from Canada yet the check is from a bank in California. I'm not falling for this scam...and would love to see the businesses named in the letter put these people away!

On Saturday August 13 my wife received these same items in an envelope showing "Square
Enix LLC" as sender, but no return address, and a Canadian postmark. The real-looking check inside for $3, 950 is apparently from Square Enix as well. But looking online, I found a warning of this scam on SqE's own website. The letter itself is so shabbily composed that no sensible person would trust it.
