STORM GUARD RESTORATION
STORM GUARD RESTORATION DBA SILVERBACK ROOFING ALEX SEVERN (303-895-0778) STEALS MONEY FROM SALES REPS (MULTIPLE) Oakdale, Minnesota
25th of Apr, 2011 by User765682
Alex Severn paints a great picture when interviewing with him. He is a very small man that has an obvious "little man" complex and it shows in how he treats sales reps and customers. This has been 2 years of lies and deceit by Alex and his boss, the owner Jim, however I want to keep this short.
This is the straw that broke the camels back...I turned a re-roofing job to Alex in July of 2010, it did not get built until the following spring and then miserably failed the city inspection. After failing inspection, it took Alex and SGR Aka SILVERBACK ROOFING, more than 3 months to try and repair their HORRIBLE workmanship.
The customer had to go as far as getting an attorney before Alex and his asst, Sue, to even call the customer. So they FINALLY did get repairs done.
This was a $9,000.00 job that I received $200 DRAW when I turned in first check.
A year later, after they finally got it done properly, I turned the final check direct to Alex (the scam artist) in a parking lot here in Denver. Yea, they had and have NO office cause they had to close it due to the terrible way that Alex tries to run an office. Even their website just says Denver,Co with NO physical address. So I turn in the final $6,300.00 check and expect a fair commission of around $800.00. WELL, even though I had/Have a contract that states I get 40% commission of the profit...my final capout check was $200.00...even the capsheet shows over a $2,000.00 profit to the "company". Simply put they are scammers that prey on their employees with totally false promises and complete lies as to what they will pay you.
After I called Alex out on the fact that I was VERY shorted, he said he would get it corrected and I emailed him the "as it should be" capout document and never heard anything back but cursing text messages that im and a**hole and i will never get paid. Now they are attempting to franchise their terrible business across the USA so BEWARE, they are out to screw anyone they can.

#1 Owner of Company
Distorted/False record of the actual facts.
AUTHOR: Jim Linehan-President - Waiter Park (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 17, 2011
This report shows up written by an anonymous author,  after careful review we have determined it was written by a salesman in our Denver, CO office named Eric Merhout. Mr. Merhout clearly has a much distorted account of the actual events in this matter. The facts I will present here will clearly demonstrate our company’s solid reputation and upstanding credibility with our staff, customers and building officials alike.

Mr. Merhout started with Storm Guard Restoration, LLC in Denver in September of 2010. He claims in his report that he has been with our company for two years, untrue. How could he turn in a job in July 2010 if he on staff here?

Mr. Merhout Mentions we operate under AKA as Silverback Roofing. Untrue, there is no record of a Silverback roofing in the State of Colorado. (Reference: State of CO. Secretary of state)

Mr. Merhout claims we have no office in Denver, untrue. The address is 7332 S. Alton Way #13A Centennial, CO 80112

Mr. Merhout mentions he turned in a job in July 2010, untrue. He turned in "One" job total with Storm Guard in December 2010. (Documented and available for review).

Mr. Merhout for some reason felt that we should apply a new roof to his only client’s house in the middle of winter. We explained to him that it is not our policy to break the manufactures installation recommendations and we scheduled and built the job in early spring of 2011.

Mr. Merhout sites that the workmanship was horrible and failed city inspection multiple time, untrue. The job failed the city inspection one time for what the city referred to "as a minor infraction." is was corrected promptly and passed inspection.

Mr. Merhout mentions that he was only paid two hundred dollars on this job, Untrue. He states in his rip-off report that he should have had a commission of eight hundred dollars but was only paid two hundred. As the Capp sheet clearly spells out his commission was in fact $764.69.  Mr. Merhout was paid an advance of $500 when he turned the job in for production. Our commission policy at Storm Guard has been consistent since 2003. Mr. Merhout was provided a "Capp Sheet that clearly discloses ALL revenue taken in on a job and ALL expenses paid out on a job. In addition, we had to have another sales representative collect his final checks from the homeowner because he refused to follow through. Our policy and his contract states that if any representative leaves the company with unfinished business that we do not have to pay them any further commissions. As a courtesy to Mr., Merhout we only charged him $40 to have someone collect the final check from the homeowner.

Storm Guard had no financial obligation what so ever to pay him his final check on this file for $224.69. We did it because regardless of the salesman’s mishaps we play honest and fair with everyone that enters our company.

As a courtesy to the readers and to document the misstated facts of Mr. Merhout, we will be glad to make any and all documents available including the final CAPP sheet for his commission.

As always Storm Guard Restoration, LLC will continue to uphold the integrity of our A+ BBB rating on a nationwide basis.

Well Jim is still ripping off his sales men. I worked for them in Phoenix, AZ in 2011 hail storm. I have received only cap checks on 4 jobs, now he say's he doesn't owe me anything else. I also have proof that he defrauded a insured and insurance company an one of my jobs. I told management and Jim about it and was told to be quit and i would get a good cap on it. I am a adjuster most of the time, I will not work for or refer Storm Guard or Silverback Roofing if they were the last roofer on the planet. Scott A.

Scotta's real name is Scott Austin. Mr. Austin grossly misrepresented himself from the day he began working for Silverback Roofing in Mesa, AZ. Silverback Roofing has been a licensed roofing contractor in AZ for many years with an upstanding reputation. As part of Mr. Austins position he needed to have a cell phone as part of his independent contractor agreement. His first week in the field he did not have a cell phone as his last one had been disconnected due to non payment to his cell phone provider. The company began receiving complaints for Mr. Austin his first week due to lack of customer follow up in returning there phone calls. We had six reported complaints against him within his first two weeks. He was informed that if he did not have a phone within one day his contract was going to be canceled to represent our company. He conformed and got a phone. Unfortunately his behavior in the field did not improve nor did he return calls to his customers. It seemed to be on a daily basis that Mr. Austin had his personal bill collectors calling our office for collection payments for non paid bills of his own. Once again we had a discussion with Mr. Austin to inform him that we would not handle any of his personal financial troubles. The creditors kept calling and from what we understood his vehicle was also repossessed withing three weeks of his start date. In the end Mr. Austin turned in about three jobs total along with his son in law who was his taxi cab, incidentally, the complaints on him were just as bad. Mr. Austin signed and entered a independent contractor agreement with the company that clearly outlines the pay process for duties preformed. Once Mr. Austin became negligent, hostel and violent against the company and its staff we felt it was in everyone's best interest to do what should have been done weeks earlier cancel his contract. Mr. Austin send over twenty emails threatening several staff members with violence and supposed fraud allegations. Mr. Austin was paid every thing he was entitled to. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with this person as he has a checkered reputation at best.

As a courtesy to the readers and to document the misstated facts of Mr. Austin, we will be glad to make any and all documents available including his capp sheets.

As always Silverback Roofing will continue to uphold the integrity of our A+ BBB rating on a nationwide basis.
