strain family horse farm bill strain Dangerous, drugged, lame horses!!!!!!! granby, Connecticut

I cannot even begin to tell you the problems we had here. I was warned about going but against so many we went anyway. Wish we did not. My 2 daughters fell in love with a cute and what seemed to be gentle, sound and safe horse. The dealers told us everything we wanted to hear. None of it turned out to be true. We did purchase this cute horse for 7500 and had a vet examine him. Their vet I might add and they said after a 1/2 hour exam that all looked good. His age was the only concern. Strains said he was 8 and the vet thought closer to 12. That was still exceptable as he seemed like the perfect horse. We had him delivered 2 days later and he came off the trailer as quiet as could be. He got along with our other animals and settled right in to his stall. They left and we were at that point happy. It was only about 4 hours later we were seeing a different horse. He was coming alive and was getting more and more dangerous for our children. He went into his paddock where he had been for an hour before and quiet and he was wild. Not frisky, not excited to be in a new home but dangerous. He kicked 2 boards off the fence, cut his leg open and jumped out 5 min later. Running frantic we called the vet on an emergency call for help. We do have a goat and 2 sheep along with our older QH and pony. He was very spooked by the sheep which was understandable but not to the extent he was. We were able to corner him back in the barn. The vet got there after a couple hours and was shocked by our purchase for our children. He first looked at how old he was, closer to 20. He the suggested drawing blood for a drug screen. We did that the stitched him up. Ran the blood test which was a long couple days with no help from Strains. Blood tested positive for 3 different drugs! I felt sick for not listening to everyones warnings. Very much not the horse our family needed. A friend who is god on the computer did some checking. The horse a few weeks prior was in the Camelot rescue! His price was 300. They got him from there, drugged him and sold him to us for 7500. We were devastated and felt so taken. We did call them to take him back. We went to pick another and brought some more knowledgeable people with us. They pilled one out with ring bone, another with strangles, one obviously lame and never could get the prices right! They changed the prices 4 times in 20 minutes. We did find another. Had a vet exam done. Drug test was included this time. Waited for all results and surprise. Positive. Why do people have to do this??? Especially with children involved. We did talk to them in person and they did point out a lady in the barn who is a employee? a friend? Not sure but her husband is their lawyer. Great. We were so financially hurt by this time we had limited choices. We took 3000 back from them and walked away. So much for our savings for a safe horse for our girls. Some people have no heart.
