Sun Auto Group Bohemia Sun Auto Group Wantagh Deceptive, Dishonest Thieves! Bohemia, New York
3rd of Jun, 2011 by User935140
Sun Auto Group has been deceiving it's customers by bait and switch tactics, double billing, ambiguous billing with sales receipts. On 8/20/10 I put a deposit on possibly my last corvette, as I am physically disabled. I noticed a very upset customer yelling and demanding a refund. The staff told me there was simply a misunderstanding and I foolishly did not investigate. I must find this customer. This corvette is a 100k Z06. I ordered this car with all options straight from the factory. Everyone should know, when you order a vehicle straight from the factory it arrives with Factory miles (2-4). I specifically asked them to call me when this very limited/rare vehicle arrived. I wanted to document delivery and everything, as this car will ultimately be a collectible. They never called me because, as I understand, the dealer, Patrick Cassino, was unable to restrain himself and drove my new 100k corvette and exceeded 30 miles on it. (There is a rumor, he took the vehicle home). When I requested a refund for this reason, Patrick never responded. The collective dealer community knows him as an incorrigible child, who has made a fortune at the expense of his customers. Clearly, a need for further government regulation. My attorneys have made my "request" legal. Patrick has lied to his legal counsel about the events and has tried to bury the "evidence" via auction. Patrick is a notable lying thief who is determined to keep my $10,000 which is part of my disability award.

I am Patrick R. Cassino, the owner of Sun Auto Group. This nameless complainant, Mr. Johnny K. Stephens, Holbrook, NY has offered a grossly distorted story, infused with fabrications and viscous personal attacks. My attorney, Stevan Labonte, Commack, NY is pursuing litigation against him for the losses we incurred from his contractual failures and will now add slander to the list.

The documents related to this dispute can be soon be viewed at www.SunDealerInfo.com In brief, these facts: I was present the entire August day that Mr Stephens signed the sales orders. There was no "upset customer yelling" in the showroom. This is a complete fabrication. Also, Mr. Stephens actually contracted for not one but two new vehicles totaling over $160, 000 in August of 2010: a 2010 Cadillac Escalade and a special order loaded 2011 Corvette Z06 in orange with carbon fiber and ground effects package. The MSRP of this car was $98, 895. We agreed to special order the car and sell it to him for $93, 910 plus tax and tags less any potential rebates. We took a total deposit of $10, 000 and because of the cost and risk involved we were extra careful with documents and signatures. Still, he ultimately failed to take delivery or pay for either vehicle. He signed sales agreements stating that these were cash transactions with no financing required. I spoke to him personally. He promised to pick up the Corvette within a few days after eventual arrival, which occurred Oct 2011. Again, these agreements and his signatures can be accessed at www.SunDealerInfo.com Three managers made over 20 attempts over many months to contact him and get him to honor the agreements he signed. Virtually all attempts were ignored. Phone calls went unanswered or unreturned as did all but one email. His voicemail box was typically full. He never returned my phone calls and never came to see me.

We gave up hope on on the Escalade and eventually sold it to another party. We held onto the Corvette for approximately 7 months with the hopes of either getting him to pick up his new car or selling it to someone else. The market is not strong right now for $100, 000 orange sport cars. In May of 2011, with the help of a wholesaler, I sent the car to a high end auction in PA to cut my losses, which eventually totaled well over $15, 000 plus ongoing legal fees less his deposit of $10, 000. We have the auction receipt with the mileage. He never directly contacted us to request his deposit back and we would not have offered it to him. We are in our legal rights to apply these funds against our losses. I welcome him to challenge us in court. In May, 2011 his attorney, Feldman, Kramer, Monaco of Hauppauge, NY sent us a letter demanding the funds mainly on the false claim that the new Corvette had 30 miles on it. This in itself, even if true, was an absurd reason to void the transaction. However, the car actually left for the auction with just 21 documented miles on the odometer. Further, it was not joy ridden by me or anyone else here. This too is an incredible fabrication. I own 3 dealerships, sports cars, trucks, motorcycles and a small airplane. I don't get my thrills driving someone's special ordered car. We even stored it indoors for the entire time it was here. He has also claimed that I took it home. Quite untrue as I live 19 miles from my dealership. A round trip to my home is 38 miles plus the approx 17 miles the car had when new off the car carrier. Yet the car was sold at auction with just 21 total documented miles.

It seems quite apparent that Mr. Stephens could not come up with the funds to complete these fantasy purchases. He would not take out an auto loan. None of the pricing had changed. He simply failed to take delivery and has shamelessly presented himself as a victim while hunting for a way to cancel his agreement and stick us with huge losses. After reviewing our clear and compelling documents, his attorney recently responded they are not pursuing any actions against us and will no longer represent Mr. Stephens with this dispute. We have rock solid documentation to support our case. In light of his viscous personal attacks and false allegations we have decided to proceed with the strongest legal actions against him. Further, I and my dealership companies, Sun Auto Group, have been in business since 1994 with an excellent reputation on L.I. Likewise with General Motors, BBB, consumer affairs and others which are easily researched on the web and through public records.

Stop crying money problems and financial losses and do what is right. Now you add slander to your list? What happened to respecting the customer? Consumers have rights and you have threatened many people with lawsuits that never seem to materialize. Your employees, prior co-workers and prior employers, according to the public complaints I viewed, do not approve of you and indicate that you treat people badly. You have numerous complaints on various web sites that you feel the need to respond in poor taste and with much hostility. You state, we were extra careful with documents and signatures due to the cost and risk involved. Does this mean you are not always extra careful with all documents and signatures pursuant to customers that spend less on purchasing an automobile? You brag about your toys. Are you so insecure that you must disclose all the toys you own in your response? Is this necessary? Certainly, a very poor defense, as to why you would not take a vehicle for a joyride, simply because you have your own toys to play with. It must be a full time job for you to use your time and energy, surfing the web, in order to post your responses, to the many complaints against your company and your character. Far from an excellent reputation. I came across this information while searching web sites for reputable dealerships on Long Island, to purchase several vehicles. Honestly, I consider complaints, regarding automobile dealerships, with a grain of salt and I was considering Sun Auto Group as one of my choices to obtain some prices. I must say that it wasn't the consumer complaints that kept me from visiting Sun Auto Group. It was, however, your petty responses, that made up my mind, to not consider giving you my business. I could care less about who is right or wrong in the many complaints with regard to your companies and your personal faults. Although, you have the right to respond to such allegations, there is a right way and a wrong way, to defend yourself. You lack understanding appropriate business practice and have absolutely no integrity or common sense, especially in a public forum. Remember, in addition to the public viewing consumer complaints, they are also viewing your response to such complaints, including proper verbiage and grammar

I agree with "concerned consumer". Nice touch leaving the period out "concerned consumer", although I don't think he will get it, as an example of not knowing when to use punctuation's. Therefore, contributing to run on sentences, as one mistake. You were actually kind in giving your advice to this guy. He can't even take the time to use spell check. I might take him seriously if he could spell. I wonder if he knows how many words he butchered. Lets take a look at the first paragraph. The word "vicious" and the first sentence of the second paragraph, "can be soon be viewed" are just 2 examples of some serious problems. This man is a business owner? I wonder how many people have laughed at his letters? If I were to continue with my comment it would be humiliating and I just wanted to make a point. Please get a publicist or a proofreader or use spell check. I imagine it took you a long time to compose this mess. Next time, double check your work.

The complainant promised to "get his friends involved" in this dispute. It's likely that's where both these responses came from. It's interesting to note that both replies were sent on the same day.

A google search will turn up very few complaints about my dealership and I challenge the writer, and other concerned readers, to find the "many complaints" about my business or my character that he alleges. My company has long held a BBB rating of A+, much better than my closest competitors.

Further, an assistant did proof read and submit my drafted response. She has a master's degree and always does a fine job. Still, I decided to copy, paste and spell check the document myself today. Yes, it has 3 errors, including, possibly, the word "unreturned". (There are no problems with the sentence structures)
I challenge this English professor friend of Mr Stephens who "responded" to do the same.
