Sun Devil Auto Repair They Tried to Hose me and nearly got away with it!! Gilbert, Arizona

I brought my 2006 Honda Civic for a $23.00 oil change and was surprised to hear that there was a major leak in my power steering and that it would cost $550 to repair. The guy asked if I had any trouble with the steering wheel or if it was making any noises when I turned the steering wheel. I told him no. He then told me that if I didn't get it fixed right now that it would lead to other repairs to the rack and pinon costing over $1000. I told him that I didn't have time to leave it to be fixed that day. He told me to make sure to check on it every day and make sure the levels are what they should be. I drove it home and checked the power steering gauge which indicated it was a little low. I then checked under the car and noticed there was a leak. The fluid was clear and had no smell so I quickly resolved the leak to be condensation from the A/C. I, then, noticed in my engine that the power steering gauge is right on top of the leak. I poored some power steering on the concrete and noticed it was clear but it smelled and was more oily. I compared it to my car leak and 15 minutes later the leak had dried up when the power steering fluid was still there. So, clearly, Sun Devil Auto was trying to hose me into believing that the clear fluid coming from that side of the car was from my power steering which is also clear. I fould it very funny that another person on here also had the same pitch from these guys about a power steering leak at this same location. I don't think they ever find a car that doesn't need a lot of work. The $19.00 oil change sign outside is just to get you in so they can come up with something wrong with your car. Don't believe a word they say. Get the oil changed and drive away.
