Hello this report is being filed to help others to not make the HUGE mistake that we did. In January 2011 we researched the internet looking for grants to help us begin our business. After visiting one site, we received a phone call from a company called Grant Seeker Pro, who said they could help us find grants. We paid $100.00 and they sent us a book, a CD and unlimited 30-day access to their internet site. We began reading the book and it was very hard for a normal person to understand. Then we received a call again from our Grant Seeker Pro Woman who informed us that there was a coaching program that she believed would benefit us greatly and she needed to get some information to see if we would qualify. Of Course, the company was Synergy Mentoring and yes, yes, yes we did qualify. We received a call from Mr Joe Goodman that lasted for over 2 hours. He listened to our business idea and assured us what a great thing we were going to do and said they could get us many grants to help our dream come true. He welcomed us to the company and told us what a high success rate they had and told us about many other couples they helped to achieve their life-long dreams. Well, we are a Christian couple, so we fell for this HUGE SCAM hook, line and sinker. Cause there was no way that someone could promise you all of this and it not come true, right? DEFINITELY NOT TRUE AT ALL. Then, Mr Goodman informed us that there was a price for all of this help we would be receiving. Being that the Grant Seeker Pro Book and CD costed us $100.00, we figured this program would cost us between $500-$1000.00 and that it would be well worth it for making all our Christian dreams come true. Wrong again. The cost of our dreams coming true would cost us $5650.00 and we were told that it was really no big deal because we would get it back when our 1st grant went through. Once again hook, line and sinker, we fell for it. But oh boy, they would help us out so much by taking half down and letting us make payments of $236.00 each month for the balance. So we maxed out a credit card with no doubts in the world of this program being a scam. The thought never even crossed our minds. So we had to get on their website that very same night and fill out our profile page and then of course rushed us to sign a contract with them. Which, we did exactly as we were told to. We were to receive a call the next day to set up our very first meeting with Mel Feller, who of course, is the president of this HUGE SCAM. Then, we would have a business plan coach, who would write a business plan for us. We would also have a 1-on-1 coach who we would have 1/2 hour sessions with every week on the same day and time. We received our phone call the next day and our meeting with Mel Feller was all set up. Of course, when he called, it was like a dream come true, because we would be taken care of so well and all our business dreams would come true and we would have no problems getting any grants, and on and on and on. Then we received an email from our business plan coach Trisha and it had instructions on it to fill out the business plan template and send it back to her and she would do the rest. The email said it would take 45-60 minutes to fill out. Wrong, it took almost 3 weeks. We did receive our business plan back and it looks really good. So I would like to say that Trisha actually did help us and is a good person in all of this, we believe. But then again, we have not taken the business plan to any bank yet, so that might back fire in our face as well. Then, the weekly 1-on-1 coaching sessions with Kelly began and that is when the crap really started to get deep. Each meeting we had with her consisted of her telling us websites to get on and rushing us through each of them and then the meeting would be over. That was definitely not what we were told would happen when we signed up. We were told that we would explain our hopes and dreams to her and she would find grants that would benefit us and then she would write our business proposal and apply for the grants. Well that never happened and never will with these Scam Artists. During one of our Coaching Sessions, we started to ask some questions about our concerns with the services we were receiving and that is where it all started going down hill. She informed us that in no way, shape or form did they find any grants or apply for any either. Boy, were we shocked and very concerned now. We went to our local Small Business Development Center and they informed us that there are no grants available for "For-Profit Businesses." We explained our story to this lady and first thing she did was google "Synergy Mentoring." In for another surprise huh. Everywhere we looked at their name, we saw the word "SCAM" beside it. Then, reality started to sink in that we had made a huge mistake. So therefore, we went home and called Mr Mell Feller and Mr Joe Goodman, but of course only got voicemail recordings. We sent emails to each of them also. Response from Mr Feller was that "we were jumping to conclusions and were reading more into the stories." Well we didn't fall for their crap this time. We demanded to speak to Mr Feller and of course, we could not reach him by phone but each time we tried, within about 10 minutes afterwards, we would receive an email from him explaining he was tied up and he would have Rachel from Customer Service call to set up an appointment with us and the both of them. Well the following week, the meeting between us and the both of them finally took place. Mr Feller is a very arrogrant man who has no respect for anyone or their feelings at all. He informed us that they never said they would find the grants or do anything with applying for the Grants. He is a very rude man. Definitely has a different attitude when you question him about anything. Was so polite the first day when welcoming us to the program and telling us how successful we would be. Well guess what, wrong again. We had only had 4 1-on-1 sessions with Kelly, but they said we had already had 5 sessions with her. But they would do us a huge favor by approving 3 more sessions with her. Big help, huh. 3 more sessions for her just to give us website after website to look on and nothing to find on any of them. She had already made fools out of us once. On the 1st session we had with her, she informed us that we should go to the bank and see about getting some start-up capital to help with the expenses we were had already incurred with them. See, maxing out a credit card was a bit extreme for us seeing as we are on a 1 person income right now. But of course we did it because it would be all worth it in the end. So we went to the bank, and the 1st thing he asked for was our business plan. Well duh, she knew we needed a business plan but we didnt know that. So therefore, he looked at us like we were complete idiots and we felt like it too. So, to conclude with my long sad story, Synergy Mentoring is a big scam. We paid $3100.00 for a business plan that we have not tried to use yet for fear of embarrassment. So I hope and pray that if you are reading this, it is not because you have also been scammed. Please be careful and dont fall for their wonderful welcoming speech because it is a load of crap. Our dreams will come true with Gods grace and will but they will definitely not come true with this company at all. This company tries to ruin your faith and your hopes but believe me, they will be judged in the end. All we are asking for is $3100.00 dollars back that we have paid so far. That is not too much to ask for, is it? And we will not stop until we receive ALL of this money back. This company did not honor any of the promises they made to us on that 1st wonderful phone call.
