T-mobile What? Extra charge for tethering? Albequerque, New Mexico
25th of Jan, 2011 by
I purchased a cell phone plan from T-mobile in August, 2009, specifically so my daughter could connect to the internet at her apartment while a student. The apartment does not have a land line, and we were sold on the fact that she could tether her Blackberry (with unlimited data plan) to her computer. The new plan includes 3 phones and I am charged an average of $150 per month.

December, 2010: Same daughter gets a new laptop.

Today: She tethers her Blackberry to her new computer. Connects okay, but cannot receive data. When she calls the T-mobile HELP line, she is told that she must pay an additional $14.99 per month to tether!

In an economy where people must watch every penny, why are these cell phone companies nickel and diming the consumer??? Will I have to pay for the buttons on my phone next?

T-mobile: Be a responsible, consumer-aware company! I am NOT renewing my contract in August!
