I am writing to warn anyone looking for accountant services. Richard Raby (taxesmadeeasy) is an absolute scam! This man was hired by my business to do our accounting work for the year 2010. I use quickbooks for all of my entries. I sent him all of the information he needed, everything. I did have a problem with a quickbook entry, which was an error when my point of sale transfers over. I notified him of it. He could not for the life of him understand the problem. I would also have to send him information 2 or 3 times. I have had my taxes done professionally every year, and my accountant retired, so I was referred to him. So, he ended up getting frustrated and was very rude to me, said I am done with you. All of a sudden, he is done my taxes??? How can you be done, when you are missing information. I confronted him on it, and all he did was use foul language and threatened to sue me. I did not pay. Today is October 18, 2011, I receive a statment from him, it's been over 6 months. Now the bill has gone up $250, What?? I told him I won't pay and he is back to the lawsuit again. Why in my right mind trust someone like this? How do I know they are done correctly?
I would not trust Richard Raby to do my taxes. I have found via research, that he has been fired from previous accounting jobs, so he is in business for himself. This is a con man in my opinion, and can get you in a alot of trouble if your taxes are done incorrectly.
I found another firm to do my taxes. They corrected the quickbook issue instantly, gave them everything they needed and guess what, my taxes were done. I paid more, but it is worth it in the long run to have to deal with an incompetent accountant.
