Do NOT under any circumstances apply for a positon at Teleperformance A.S.D. in
Shreveport, La! They say that they provide adequate training for the job, but their idea of "adequate" training and most other companies idea of "adequate" training are two different things. It starts with a 3 week whirlwind classroom section in which reams of information are thrown at the trainee with the expectation that you will retain what you've been "taught". On the fourth week of your "training", you are basically thrown on the phones with little or no assistance from "nesting" trainers. In my opinion, this is wrong and should be dealt with. New employees are expected to perform like veterans with little or no actual training and if they happen to make a mistake (which is bound to happen considering the non-existent training) they are immediately fired.

I work there, have been through their training and, were it not for the pay rate - reasonable for the task but well below my potential - I would be content to retire when I'm 95.

I'm in my sixties, have a master's but because of the age discrimination in the SHreveport Educational System - Teleperformance was the only company that hired me, not in spite of my age, but because of it. They wanted someone who would come to work everyday and be teachable.

Yes, the training is basic, but this is a job that one learne through experience and failure is not met with termination, rather, with determination to sugment training. It's a competitive market and they compete effectively.

There are improvements being instituted on a regular basis, improvements and benefits which have come at a price.

I suggest the reporter above come to grips with the world we now live in, competing with the Chinese who work for little to nothing, no concerns for working environment, health benefits, employee morate or even their footprint on the worlds environment.
