| I ordered a bed and bedside cabinets from this company who took the money from my credit card on receipt of order and then advised it would be 8 weeks delivery. I was not best pleased with this. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the company I was told it may be sooner so I decided this would be OK. However here I am 13 weeks later, and no bed has arrived. I have contacted the company many times - they never contacted me - and have been told it will be another 4 weeks (at least). I found this totally unacceptable and so I phoned them to cancel the agreement. They asked me to put it in writing which I did but got no reply or even an acknowledgement. I have rung several times where the person on the other end of the phone a) refused to tell me their name b) refused to tell me their managers name; c) said they would pass my complaint to customers services - when I asked to be put through to them I was told they do not accept calls; d) couldn't process a refund as their accountant only visits once a fortnight; and e)they had no idea when the accountant would next be in. Each time I call I have been told someone would call me back - never happens! I have no option now but to go through my credit card company to recover the money. - Please if you are thinking of ordering from this company, learn from myself and others on this site - save yourself a lot of trouble and don't bother! |

| On May 29 I ordered a bed and two cabinets and a mattress from this company. I was told I could expect delivery 6-8 wks after having to chase them up as I received no complimentary email. They told me beginning of July. After still not receiving goods and they have taken full payment I called them and was informed the end of July beginning of Aug before I could receive goods. I decided to cancel as I needed my bed sooner than the time they have promised. The lady put me onto some other guy irish probably Joseph or Thomas O Beirne or Brian Nolan former directors/Company secs, who tried to say that he did not think he could refund me the money as they were within their delivery frame time. I explained under consumer rights to online buying I am within my cooling off period which extended to three months as I had received no email from them telling me about their cancellation policy. He hummed and said well I can get it to you in two weeks I said no I need it before then I would rather cancel the complete order please. (Any other company this would be easy and done by now) Oh hang on I will call you back after I've spoken to transport maybe I can get it to you in a week. I felt he was fobbing me off. He did not return call as promised. They basically refused to refund me my money. I also found out this company trading as Furniture island Co is registered as Ultraflex LTD. A check on companies house will tell you this company has applied for strike off. Its all very dubious. I have now applied to visa to get my money refunded. |

ISLAND FURNITURE CO IS JUST THE TRADING NAME!
THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPANIES REGISTERED AT THAT ADDRESS WITH THE IRSIH MAN, MR JOSEPH OBEIRNE OR THOMAS JOSPEH OBIERNE AS THE USUAL DIRECTOR- TRADING STANDARDS AND HRMC HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED!
THE TRADING NAME IS USED TO PREVENT LEGAL ACTION AS THEY REFUSE TO GIVE OUT THE COMPANY DETAILS. HOWEVER A SIMPLE SEARCH OF THE ADDRESS OR DIRECTORS CHECK WILL NEGATE THIS.
THIS COMPANY WILL BE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE AS THEY ISSUE INVOICE WITH VAT DEDUCTIONS, YET REFUSE TO STATE WHICH COMANY [LTD] IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VAT DEDUCTION. THIS IS FRAUD!
IF ANYONE FILES A CLAIM IN THE COURT- MAKE THE DEFENDANT: MR JOSPEH OBEIRNE, AT [STIPULATE THE ADDRESS OF THE BUSINESS ON INVOICE' TRADING AS 'ISLAND FURNITURE CO' AND LIST ALL COMPANIES FOUND REGISTERED AT ADDRESS YOU PURCHASED YOUR ITEMS'.
THE IRISH MAN CANNOT KEEP EVADING FOREVER AND WILL BE CAUGHT OUT, JUST LIKE THEIR RECENT TELLING OFF FOR NOT FALLOWING THE CORRECT ADVERTISING GUIDELINES!
I HAVE RECORDED CONVERSATIONS WHERE SATFF HAVE TRIED TO MAKE ME BELIEVE THAT TEHIR ACTUAL COMPANY IS ISLAND FURNIGTURE CO AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE THISE DETAILS. I HAVE BALIF TETIMONIES THAT THEY HAVE TRIED TO DECEIVE THEM ALSO INTO THINKING ITEM ON A WALK IN POSSESSION WERE OWNED BY AN INACTIVE COMPANY, NOTWITHSTANDING THE INVOICE ONCE ISSUED TO ME.
TH COURT, HMRC, COMPANIES HOUSE - AS I AHVE MADE A COMPLAINT AS TO THE DIRECTOR MR JOSEPH OBEIRNE- AND TRADING STANDARDS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED.
THIS TRADING COMPANY WILL GET A NICE SURPRISE HOPEFULLY IN DECEMBER- JUST DESERTS FOR RUNNING A COMPANY THAT DOES NOT CORRESPOND TO LEGITIMATE PRACTICES! |

| I felt I had to put my review of Island Furniture Co here. We recently placed an order for a sleigh bed set and they confirmed the order for delivery after 8 weeks. As this was for my daughters room and she was sleeping on a mattress on floor we wrote and asked them if they could deliver faster. They said they would do their best and sure enough we got a phone call for delivery after 5 days. On day of delivery the drivers were most helpful and put the bed in the loft conversation for us. My daughter is delighted with her new bed and I was most grateful to Island Furniture for the fast delivery. |

| We had a bespoke bed made to replace our King size double bed which was becoming too heavy for us to move about. As we both suffer from slight disabilities we decided to buy an adjustable frame with 2 single mattress that would enable us to use them in different ways as we both like to read and watch television the ability to lift the mattresses to different heights provide us with the best of both worlds. I recently had an operation on my foot and needed to be able to lift the bottom of the mattress up to a higher level which the new bed did this without any problems. The ability to vibrate the mattress, apart from trying it, is another facility that may be useful at some point although my wife has used it to help with her arthritis. The quality of the bed is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending Island Furniture Co to anybody looking for a well made and most comfortable bed. The price is competitive and the quality is much better than others on the market but for me as you spend a third of your life in bed it should be as comfortable as possible and the Tiroir Bed certainly meets all the demands my wife and I have. It took about 3 months for them to make the bed for us and this was explained to us from the day of placing our order. I don't hesitate recommending Island Furniture and I would certainly order from them again. |
