Thunder Cameras - T C Electronics, StopandShop, Kings,New York Fraud - Theft by Taking - Scam - Switch - Beware of Josh and John at Thunder Cameras Br |

I saved for and ordered the Canon 60D "Package" from Thunder Cameras. The bundle was supposed to include two lens, a "professional battery grip", a professional heavy duty tri-pod and many extras. I ordered the package on Friday, called back on Saturday to cancel the order, was told I was too late, that it had shipped (I needed this for a photography shoot and they did say they could expedite it). My card was stolen on Friday night; I canceled the card with my bank but too late... Thunder Cameras hit my card for the $2400 purchase price of the package. I begged John and Josh to cancel the delivery, let me pay them for the shipping fee and to please cancel my order and charge to my card. They refused. When I opened the box to make sure they sent what was odered, it was short by several items... not even a full "package" was delivered... what a scam... HOW DISGRACEFUL to do business this way. After many, many calls, I was told I could return the package with a 15% restocking fee. I talked with my local atty and he said eat the reurn fee and get back the $2400... Thunder cameras went off line to supposedly upgrade their services; their phone lines are no longer in operation. I contacted Canon USA; shared my horrible situation, they said this is a "gray-market" (probably) operation (meaning - not legitimately a Canon rep). They advised I contact the BBB of Brooklyn, have filed a complaint. I have also contacted the N.Y. Attorney General's office in hopes of receiving assistance. I have to wait four more business days to get my bank, Mastercard, to hopefully assist me with this issue. Only smart thing I did was buy a USPS money order for the "restocking" fee. This being a government transaction will put these people in a very akward position if they do not return in full my money. My prayer is that the will have a turn of heart and will do what is right for all consumers. DO Not buy anything on line from anyone that can't be validated as a legitimate representative... like other consumers have said... don't buy anything if you can't go to the storefront and see real live, reputable people. Good luck to all others... |
