In December of 2010 I was contacted by Travel By Owner and told that they could sell my Timeshare, so I agreed, in January of 2011 they wanted money(1500.00$) told me they had a buyer, (so being a Cancer survivior and needing money) I agreed, because they told me, it would be complete in 90days, he also told me the Buyers had to put up a deposit of 4300.00$ and that it would be given to me it they backed outof the purchase. I Explained to Mr. Gene Powers that I was boughing the money so I needed to sell ASAP. and return the Money. My next set of lies came when they told me that the buyers had forgotten to Initial 3 spaces on the Paper work, and then it was because the Gaines Family(ie. the Buyers) are being audited by the IRS. and all assets are frozen. I had,had several angry calls with them and now the tell me I should not yell at them it bad buisness( REALLY)! I can only Talk with 2people that is a woman named Crystal and a woman named Vicky they tell me the manager will put me in my place and not help me either (ie. Lisa Martinez) that I have to deal with only them . they tryed to convince me that they where trying to get me some money back but because I yelled at them that I was getting nothing, . I feel like a complete fool and I still owe 1500.00 to my Family member. STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!!! ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH Help stop the fraud

The resale of a timeshare is a legitimate business. Companies agree to advertise a timeshare for a fee on their websites. As with advertising, the membership doesn´t need to sell in order the fees to be legitimate. The difference between an honest timeshare resale company and a scam, is when the company falsely suggest they have a buyer waiting for their timeshare, or picture unrealistic, overoptimistic selling possibilities:
