Triple A Auto
Triple A Auto Group Dontell George took $1489 of my money for an engine they never delivered or even owned Monroe, Louisiana
21st of Jun, 2011 by User630505
I ordered an engine for my daughter's 2005 Aveo. Salesman DJ aka Dontell George assured me it was coming from one of their warehouses, that they weren't merely brokers. I spoke to the owner Tony Little as well. Checked with Better Business Bureau and no complaints at the time for Triple A Auto. I ran a Carfax on the VIN# for the engine and everything checked out. I paid them $1489 on May 24, 2011 and immediately began getting the runaround, excuses and out and out lies. After three weeks, DJ finally admitted the engine had been sold to someone else right at the outset. I requested an immediate full refund, and they again stopped returning my calls and emails. As of 6-22-11, the Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission is involved, and the DA is looking into this. Triple A Auto has shut down it's website, disconnected it's phones and Tony Little has closed the business. My bank is trying to recover my money, as Tony Little refuses to simply pay me the money they took from me. After some research (too late, I'm afraid) I realized that DJ aka Dontell George had been scamming people at AAA auto Parts and A-1 Auto Parts for at least the past two years. There were 9 complaints with the BBB with A-1, 14 with AAA Auto, and now 9 against Triple A Auto since the end of May. Though these three names are all similar, they are all separate businesses, so the ongoing pattern of theft and deceit isn't clear until you connect the dots. DJ aka Dontell George is the common thread. There are currently 15 complaints filed with the LUMVC. If history is any predictor, DJ will probably lay low for awhile and start another business, so beware. The Monroe police dept is interested in hearing from consumers who have been taken advantage of by these companies.

I bought an engine on April 12th 4, 2011 for my Mazda protégé 5 for $914 from DJ and he told me that it would ship out that day or the next and that I would get an email conformation. A week later I called back and he said he didn’t know what I was talking about. After two day of arguing with him and about 15 phone calls he said he had the engine and that it would be going out with a tracking number that day. Again a week later nothing, same thing I called and argued with him. Finally on May 4th, 2011 it shipped, I received it on May 11th, 2011. The engine works great, but now that $914 included a $250 core charge that was to be refunded to me once I sent my damaged engine back. Now there phone number is gone and so is there web site. Im out the $250 and time lost fighting with that ------! Not only that he has all are credit card numbers!

I also purchased a part for $209 from DJ at Triple A auto group. It was a power steering pump for an Audi. I purchased this in May as well, and when it never arrived, I contacted DJ and he gave me a run around about it just being late. After I gave it a little more time and it still didn't come I finally got DJ on the line and he stated that he would refund my full amount. After another 2 weeks and nothing, and more run around, I finally called the BBB in Monroe, and they informed me that they were investigating this group. Are the police doing anything about these people? Has anyone thought about suing the owner Tony Little. I am a US service member stationed at FT Lewis Washington, and if these guys are scamming individuals across state lines that is a Federal offense. Also it concerns me that they have my CC.

Here's the latest. DJ aka Dontell George has once again reopened his business as AAA Auto Network. It is the exact same website as Triple A auto Group, but the address and phone numbers are different. As best as I can tell, Tony Little is not involved in this latest incarnation of DJ's business scam. Tony Little is actually working with me to refund my money. I have reported this to the BBB and the Louisiana Attorney General's office. I contacted the monroe police, but they referred me to the Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission, which is part of the AG's office. The investigator handling this is Montie Weisner. The AG's office may decide to turn this over to the DA's office to pursue criminal charges. The more reports they receive, the more likely they will pursue this. This scam should also be reported to Automotix, as DJ's business relies on consumers looking for parts via the automotix search engine. I contacted the FTC and there is grounds for them to get involved, though they do not get involved in settling individual consumer complaints. Google tAAA auto network, get the number and keep harassing DJ.

We ordered a transmission for our 91 Mercury Capri on May 13, 2011. The transmission delivered on May 31, 2011 was for a Caprice. The shipment was refused and sent back to a company in Staten Island, NY. When DJ was contacted, he said he would have to get back to my husband in the next week because his sister had been murdered by her boyfriend and he had to take care of the funeral arrangements. When he didn't get back to us, my husband began calling the 800# and a cell phone #. Any messages left were not returned and eventually either the voice mail was full or the number was not available at this time. We've put in a dispute with our credit card company. Will be contacting the police and LUMVC.

On March 16, 2011 I visited Automotix.net and received a reply that Triple A Auto had a motor that I was looking for. Then on March 18, 2011, I purchased an engine from Triple A Auto Group for my daughter who resides in California. After several weeks Triple A Auto finally delivered an engine. The engine was deemed faulty by the installer/mechanic and subsequently after several weeks Triple A Auto Group picked up the faulty engine and since have not produced a replacement engine.

We have made several calls and sent several emails to Triple A Auto Group requesting a full refund of $1, 283 and they have not returned my calls or my request for the refund.

I have filed with the State of LA Used Motor Vehicle Commission but they haven't done anything but send me a letter stating that they have an investigator investigating.

Help me please: Jorge Munoz at 973-954-3449
