Triple C Builders
Triple C Builders Roofers Captain Construction Co LLC. Unprofessional and did not perform work up to standard Internet
15th of Jun, 2011 by User826965
In November 2010, they were a subcontractor to a national home improvement store and engaged to put two new Owens Corning roofs on. One was on our barn the other on our home. As of this writing, June 2011 we are STILL having to have repair people from other companies come out to repair that they have damaged. OVERVIEW OF OUR EXPERIENCE Bottom Line in our opinion, we would NOT even consider using them again because of numerous problems and damage due to unprofessional, carelessness, failure to practice due diligence and failure to use what we consider common sense. Some of the repairs have been made - after intervention by the home improvement install manager we hired and other repairs are still in que. We are now minus the spa the significantly damaged(decreases the value of our home but less than if the damaged spa had stayed) and we had to purchase boards so we cover the huge opening. We are out the money for boards and the time and expense to install the boards to cover the hole. Triple C Builders were subcontractor by the home improvement retail store we contracted with and were supposed have been screened for professionalism, etc. Even though the home improvement company provided necessary photographs for the damage to Triple C at their request, Triple C called us directly requesting we send them the same photographs. Why since they had them? OVERVIEW OF DAMAGE: 1. Approximately 5 foot x 5 foot broken bathroom window (broken first day on Job in early November 2010 and repaired December 20, 2010) 2. Broken vinyl / aluminum window trim on backside of house (second day) 3. Significant damage to spa which was NEVER covered by TRIPLE C BUILDERS personnel prior to roof removal or installation. Spa damage includes numerous deep scratches along the top and on the inside of the spa, cracks, tar, nail scratches/punctures. WE HAD TO MANUALLY REMOVE THE WATER IN THE SPA SO THE DEBRIS INCLUDING NAILS COULD BE REMOVED *TWICE* BECAUSE THEY CONTINUED TO TOSS ROOFING DEBRIS INTO THE SPA -- Triple C PERSONNEL MADE NO EFFORT TO CLEAN or cover the spa. 4. Damage to barn guttering. Personnel placed ladders against the gutter causing indentation. Apparently, shingles where slid down the side causing damage to the gutters and when Triple C Builders nailed it back, the gutter became "wavy" which may be because the nails they used to nail it BACK ON was not properly done. In one area it looks as though part of the gutter was on the ground as indicated by grass in a clip. Another part the gutter was separated from the barn which will cause damage. It is our understanding that Triple C questioned this damage and luckily we had photographs were NEW SILVER nails were plainly visible as opposed to the older BROWN nails. 5. A light fixture on the barn was removed to put the shingles on and the workers did not reattach the fixture. Instead, the workers placed the light on the roof, unsecured and not connected to the power source where it should have been. With the winds we had immediately after barn roof install, the light was blown down and the filament on the halogen light broken and had to be replaced. 6. Roofing Debris (shingles, felt, etc) from the barn job was left on the neighbors property. 7. Clean up. The debris was so high we could not get out of the den door and the spa had an array of shingles, felt, nails, plastic shipping coverings, etc. Not only had the Triple C site manager failed to live up to her promise to have this cleaned first thing on the second day of work while we were out, but the problem had increased. My spouse began removing the debris away from the den door, the deck, the concrete patio, rose bushes, etc. The workers were actually throwing shingles and debris INTO THE ROSE BUSHES AND PLANTS. The amount of nails and miscellaneous debris from the roof thrown into the areas they were thrown was unnecessary and in our humble opinion indicates a complete lack of professionalism and total disregard for not only the homeowners but for the animals we share our home with. It was not until my spouse climbed into the spa around 4:00PM on the second day AFTER a doctor's appointment to remove the debris and I began clean up, did the site manager instruct her employees to assist us with clean up. We did most of it. Roofing debris was tossed on neighbors property and cleaned up. Neighbors property 8. One day, the workers had their family bring their lunch which was fine - but they stayed. Young children played on the materials and family members took it upon themselves to bring roofing materials out in the pasture area in the horse manure and watch them work. Although the horses were sequestered in an enclosed area, it would have been quite easy for the horses (at 2,000 pounds) either run through the fencing or over the fencing causing death or serious injury to the family members not to mention the "hot wire" fence along the perimeter of the horse area. It was not until later that we discovered that Home improvement retailer insurance policy DOES NOT cover family members on site 9. On the Barn, workers removed and mangled (by throwing to the ground and throwing roofing material on them) the turbines. The turbines were in good shape and WERE NOT supposed to be replaced but subsequently had to - but not at our expense. Luckily, we had taken pictures of the process for our "memory book". Unfortunately, we had to use those pictures as "proof" to Triple C what we were saying was true. When the home improvement retailer came to the house to document the damage, WE- NOT TRIPLE C had cleaned up the mess. 10. They failed to put the roof venting on the back part of the house.
