Unbelievable!! They act like they are high and mighty, Christian, rich and when it feels like it's too good to be true...RUN for your life!! I am over qualified for this job, promised the world and the evidence was there, but it was a facade. Luckily I have taped recordings of my conversations to convince an attorney. Luckily I have one in my family. I have email proof of offered compensation. They had me sign an agreement that stated that I was being hired at minimum wage and that any materials that were miscut, damaged, etc. would be take out of my pay. I thought, okay, this doesn't apply to me, I'm being hired as sales. Later, I find out that seeking compensation from an employee is illegal: "Title 40.1 of the Code of Virginia Even with written permission, employees cannot be required to forfeit their wages for shortages, errors, damages, etc. Employers can be assessed a $1,000 penalty per violation or face criminal charges for intentionally and willfully violating this law." I have not been paid yet, yet promised multiple, various times in which I would be, also illegal: â€œVirginia Payment of Wage Law, § 40.1-29 of the Code of Virginia. Employers must establish regular pay rates and pay dates, and pay employees all wages, salaries, and commissions on or before the established pay day.â€ They said I would be paid minimum wage when I asked for my check, yet all conversations were salary. I have many overtime hours if minimum wages are to be paid at the rate 1.5 times rate. I have written a letter requesting payment as required by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry. After that, I will file a wage complaint. All employees appear to be illegal and speak almost no English. They pretend they understand, but they don't. They are probably kept quiet under threat of deportation. I know one was deported, wonder how? I encourage all who have suffered because of Jaba the Hutt, to please step forward. Will the previous author please respond so we can talk and collaborate? At this point the run around is continuing on all levels with all English speaking employees (2), or no returned phone calls.
