Verizon FIOS Fraud Scammers Repeat Billing Internet, New Jersey

I made a HUGE mistake trying out the new FIOS service when it came to my area. A door to door salesman visited me and gave me the pitch. It sounded very good. I did not need the telephone part of the service since I had a cell phone I used for most of my business, but he convinced me that it cost the same for all 3 (cable, tv, and phone) that it did for just the 2, because of a special they were doing for the beginner sign ups. Lie number 1... of course it cost more. Next issue I had was that I was shut off on a friday after making a payment... in error obviously. I called the service and weeded through the most incredible que I have ever encountered, trying to reach a live person. When I finally did, literally more than an hour later... I was told it was too late to fix it since the tech guys did not work the weekends. They apologized and admitted it was thier error and not mine but I was stuck without internet for the weekend. This was not good since I was taking online courses with important assignments due by sunday of each week. When this exact thing occurred a second time, I told them to cancel my membership. I called comcast and told them I was coming back to them if they could hook me up that saturday, which they did. I have had some issues with comcast also, but at least they come when you call them and most importantly... the que to reach a living person actually works. Ok so now for the really crappy part. I pay my last bill for FIOS... and I get confirmation from a live person (after waiting over two hours to reach) that my account is complete and closed, all paid up so no further issues. Time passes... I hope never to hear the term FIOS again. Then I get a call from collection agency that I owe for my long dead FIOS account. I flip out, of course, and call FIOS again... cursing the whole time that I have to AGAIN try to get through thier phone ques to reach someone. They answer. They treat me like I owe them money. I bitch and tell them how I called to verify it was all paid up and closed. They check again, while I waste my time in the que. They come back and tell me they are sorry, someone made a mistake and did not close all the services when I quit them, only the internet. I say tough I said cancel and I used comcast after that date. Not my fault if some genius decided to keep something open on their end. I didn't use their service and I wasn't paying for it. They finally agreed with me and apologized again, and said it was now fixed and swore it would all be off my credit within 30 days. Time passes... I get called from collection agency that I owe for FIOS account... all over again. I call, get mistreated, bitch, get apologized too and promised they will fix it... again. And it has been that same recurring cycle every few months now since I cancelled the account. It is STILL on my credit and I still get calls trying to reclaim money I do not owe. Do yourself a favor and NEVER deal with this company!
