On Saturday, May 14th, 2011 I was a first time client at VICARA AVEDA Salon in Rancho Cucamonga, CA where I had booked an appointment with their Master Stylist by the name of Rose. I specifically requested an Aveda Master Stylist for a cut/color/highlights and I had a horrible experience and my hair is now a complete disaster! I am extremely disappointed because it was my birthday and I was treating myself to this service and my entire experience there is now ruined and I was forced to wear a hat on my birthday after I came home and saw how terrible the color really was. When I made my appointment I specifically requested a Master Stylist because I wanted to ensure my hair would be perfect. My hair was very healthy and even toned and I was very specific about the look I desired bringing with me photos. After the brief consultation and I showed with a sample photo the color I wanted - we discussed my concerns for the damage that might occur to my hair if it was lightened too much and so we agreed that the color would be an even MORE subtle version that the picture I provided for reference. The goal was to have a soft warm brown color with caramel/lighter brown tones weaved in to create depth and dimension and give the appearance of fuller hair. My original hair color was a medium brown. Instead, my hair is now black with orange (pumpkin orange) stripes and chunks for highlights and on top of that, there are harsh uneven patches along the top where I am told by other stylists whos opinions I got after the service who claim it was a very very poor job and the foils were all wrong, bleach left in too long and the color bled. THere also is about a 2 inch gap from my roots (which are black now) to the beginning of the highlight making it appear as if I haven't dyed my hair in many months.


Another issue was that the stylist seemed rushed because she was doing both my hair and another clients hair color simultaneously, and after she quickly applied the foils, she left the student/color trainee assistant apply the all over color. The student stylist didn't seem to know what she was doing and in fact asked the stylist in front of me if she should apply the color everywhere or from root to tip or what? The stylist had to instruct her to use the brush and put the color "everywhere". I think my stylist forgot about me and left me there for a very long time while she finished the color, washed and cut her other clients hair because finally upon rinsing (also done by the assistant) my master stylist returned and she seemed surprised at the result of my hair. She then left me with a toner for what seemed like over an hour at the sinks, which was very uncomfortable for my neck. I was then charged the Master Stylist rate which was the most expensive rate for the entire process even though she didn't work on me the entire time.



Upon examining my hair at home on my left hand side I have a very big patch of light orange hair that is uneven and terrible looking - clearly a mistake. Please see the photos I have taken this morning because I am appalled at the condition of my hair after such an expensive salon using such great products. I returned today at my lunch time to speak to the manager, Sandra, regarding this manner and I also brought her the attached print out photos and while she agreed it did not at all resemble what I wanted and she even said she doesn't know what was wrong with Rose or why this happened to me on Saturday, she refused to refund my money. She referred me to your corporate office which I immediately called and left a message but I have yet to receive a response to both my email (with photos) and numerous phone calls and messages left. She did offer to have another stylist attempt to remedy the problem and fix the color but honestly, I am no longer comfortable having services of any kind at this salon and I am very stressed out and depressed at the way my hair looks. My experience there was ruined and I would be extremely anxious about having any services rendered at that salon. I would just like to be refunded my money because although I was able to have a 50% discount on the services due to being a first time client, when I go to color correct at another salon I will have to pay more to have this fixed, not to mention the damage done to my hair. I am truly at a loss here and I was emberrassed at how I looked and felt very self conscious on my birthday because of this and had to cancel my plans. I have received very bad feedback from every friend, family and 2 stylists who have seen my hair since this incident and everyone agrees this is the worse dye job they have seen and its ridiculous that the salon not promptly return my money and on top of that fix my hair for the trouble and stress they have caused. I am very stressed out about this situation because this is not a matter of unsatisfactory color, this is clearly a mistake and poor technique because the bleach was left too long on my hair and the color was not applied correctly.


Be warned, this salon is rude and not willing to make a client happy and very disrespectful by completely ignoring my concerns and not even taking the time to return my phone call or emails regarding the matter, at the very least to apologize. The photos speak for themselves and I will be pursuing this in court because I feel they are a high end sailing that is not only selling a haircut and color, but a total experience that should make a person feel great about themselves when they leave. Instead I left feeling depressed and stressed out and at a complete loss of money now having to spend even more to have it fixed. BEWARE OF THIS SALON.

You have to much time on your hands if your taking this to court. You got 50% off and your still complaining? Ive never been there but it sounds like you would be a horrible person to service in the first place. The fact that you have so much idle time to write this review and go to court. lol your a joke.

I agree with you, something similar happen to me, the girl who cut my hair was, Janell then the girl who tried to fix my hair after that was, Nichole she made it worse plus stold my hair clips, called to make a compaint spoke to the manager, went in that following Monday to fix my hair with the manager & she messed u[p my hair even worse, & tryed to hurry me out the door, telling me things I wanted to here, not the truth... I will never ever go back there again...
